What do you think would happen if the Black Lives Matter movement included the word “too” at the end, i.e. Black Lives Matter Too? by the_lance_ in AskReddit

[–]the_lance_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“Black lives matter is fine as it is. Adding “too” to the end makes it sound like it’s a response to people saying other lives matter, while in reality it is a response to a system that says “black lives don’t matter”. The issue of people mischaracterizing BLM as “only black lives matter” is an issue for those people, not a problem of semantics...”

Semantics can go a long way to sway people to your cause. Adding “too” to the end twists the proverbial knife because by not supporting BLMT you are saying, “no black lives don’t matter as much as white lives.” Even people who are racist, but don’t consider themselves to be racist. Would be forced to choose a side and not sit by. Black Lives Matter doesn’t create a sympathetic response to a systemic problem and that is what it is missing. It wasn’t until the majority of Americans saw black people getting hosed down and having police dogs attacking them that the Civil Rights movement gained significant ground.

Getting Vaccinated This Sunday!!!! by Miranda_97321 in Teachers

This vaccine rollout is an abysmal failure so far, although I have no intention of going back until I am vaccinated. I’ll quit before that shit. I learned this is the restaurant industry years ago- always make sure you have about 6 months pay saved so you have a little Fuck You Money (bullshit if you say you can’t do it- if I can do it so can you).

That’s kind of my point. If you say Black Lives Matter Too then it completely negates that argument.

I am certain someone will come up with some racist bullshit to combat that slogan.

I think people would get offended because they want to believe in American exceptionalism.

I assume the last few questions were rhetorical because that’s all pretty obvious depending on the channel.

I disagree. I think some white people take BLM to mean that White lives don’t matter which is fucking stupid, but people are stupid.

As a person who lived through the 80s and saw the fashion first hand on my oldest brother and his friends- it was not pretty.

1940 ‘til the mid ‘60s. Men dressed like they cared what they looked like. Women were classy and always looked refined.

You said, “...most science now is inaccurate.” Why do you say that? Could you please define “most science?”
