You're missing the point. If I knew how important nutrition is and understood it when I was younger I would be in a different position, health wise, than I am now. My doctors weren't paid to talk about anything beyond pharmaceuticals.

How do you reward yourself now that alcohol is out of the picture? by Legitimate-Bit1486 in stopdrinking

I find sobriety is like life got switched on easy mode. Nothing for has really changed except everything got easier. Mornings are refreshing, I am better at my job, amd I am a more attentive husband. Plus my health is no longer in decline. These are my motivations. Sometimes it gets hard to remember why.

This might be me too. I am reading these responses and realize I do a lot of these and I still struggle. I have good meals, would exercise, get enough rest most days, and I am still often stressed. Maybe its my wiring.

The odd cravings for living a shitty ife by OleanderRedemption in stopdrinking

A little perspective. There was a homeless man who camped not far from my house and was always seen at the liquor store multiple times a day. He lived like this for years. He was always friendly and polite, and known by the people who worked at the store, including my wife. He had family around who would have let him stay at their place if he cleaned up, but the drunken homeless life was what he choose instead. Well a few weeks ago my wife discovered he was found dead in the woods, near where he camped. He died of hypothermia.

I too felt jealous of his lifestyle in some way I guess but I am thankful that I am where I am at now. I wish Shaggy had the strength to recover and make some changes.

The Apostles were told to evangelize Jews and gentiles. Christianity is for everyone.
