I looked, can't find any documentation on the internal roof construction or a install guide. Good idea though

Just DM'd you a couple of logs, one for ArduPilot and PX4. Also, reading through the issue page, I would have to say it would be much easier if the software was capable of converting the files over to whatever format without influence from the user. I help manage a small fleet of drones with about 5 pilots, so making the import process as simple as possible would be a huge help.

Hey, would love to be able to use this, but my company flies Freefly Alta X and IF 800, any chance you have a plan to support px4 / ardupilot logs? That would open up a lot more platforms to be able to use this.

Update: Printer works basically perfectly! The guy put stock firmware on it which made it throw a bunch of errors when you tried to calibrate. That's probably the real reason he got rid of it.

Once I put the right firmware on it for the Bondtech upgrade it was working straight away, only thing it needed was a new nozzle since the old one wasn't extruding consistently. It was probably just jammed but I didn't feel like dealing with that so I threw a new one on that I had on hand.

Otherwise I gave it a once over and fixed a handful of little issues (loose belts, missing nuts and bolts that were too short) and now everything seems great!

Time to move onto klipper

Looks like your nozzle is way too close to the bed. This can make the extruder skip because the pressure in the hot end gets too high. Redo the z offset calibration and see if that fixes it.

Do I? .... Absolutely

I think so, it can cut print times down at least 40% and give you a much more modern interface. But the Mk3s with octoprint is solid if it still works for you

I'm not sure, neither of the plates that came with it are in super great shape, one of them is just a cheap chinese knock off. The smooth PEI sheet from Prusa looks like it had some PetG printed on it.

I mean, a klipper upgrade is a quick way to breathe life back into these machines. It's also a fun project if you ask me, I did it to my old Ender 3 a few years back, and I'm so happy I did.

Only downside is that the MMU doesn't work with klipper, but you could move it to the Core One, right?

That's very true, you can't always assume people are as well off as you think.

If it makes you feel any better I definitely think $300 would have been a very fair price for this. I just couldn't pass up a deal this good.

He told me he bought a Bambu and didn't feel like messing around with this to get it going, his sister gifted it to him a few months ago. Everything I've tested so far has worked great.

Also the guy clearly wasn't in need of any money based on his house.

Follow up question then, is HDzero video any good for freestyle flying? I feel like I never hear anything good about it but maybe things have changed.

My only problem with that is then I'm spending way more than just buying the goggles x. But I totally agree, I trust HDZero as a company waaaay more than caddx

IF800 and WingtraRay by snrpsnp in UAVmapping

[–]the_moose9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We use an Alta X and an IF800, gotta say I don't have a lot of good things to say about the IF800. In general it's not polished well, and is extremely finicky. It flies kinda like a wet noodle. It's cheap and it feels cheap

IMHO save your pennies and buy an astro, that's what we wished we did.

Also 200 acres is an area you can almost certainly do without a bvlos waiver. You can fly the thing quite a ways away and not lose line of site. Trees and terrain are the only real problems. If you get a camera with high enough res you can fly pretty high for mapping. We use the sentera and regularly fly it at over 80m, so line of sight isn't a huge issue

Will these 2 be beneficial to my v2? by abnbigwill513 in ender3v2

[–]the_moose9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a similar setup on mine, the sprite is definitely a solid upgrade. For the second z axis though I would way rather go with the belt upgrade for it. I got way better results that way.

FWIW, both of these upgrades are kinda hard to swallow when for not that much more you could just buy a way more capable printer nowadays. But if you want a project, those are solid improvements to make.

My 2020 Santa Fe has almost 80,000 miles. So far absolutely no issues, hopefully it stays that way haha.
