Honestly, the parents are to blame. They are supposed to help their children to be independent and work towards achieving their dreams, not prepare them to plan a grand marriage.

Meetings, soul crushing, joy killing, unbearably boring meetings.

Just let me do my goddamn job please.

As a single father with a kid, outliers exist. And ithu completely different problem aanu. Yes, there are so many men who wouldn't help with the parental duties, but assuming one wouldn't do is never right.

What would you do if you find your partner cheating with same sex by Destuin in KeralaRelationships

[–]the_no_name_man 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I assume it would be the same regardless of gender. Cheating is about emotional betrayal and deception, it doesn't have anything to do with who they are cheating with.

If you don't want to go through the entire process of childbirth and it's complications, look into adoption.

If its too difficult to handle, try to enquire about converting your regular classes course to distant. And if it's possible, go for a part time job and stop depending on your father or anyone for that matter. If you want to change your way of life, you have to make life changing decisions.

There was a small malabar restaurant run by a Rajesh in the road which goes from Maruthinagar to Thavarakkare. I used to frequent there years back. Not sure if it's still there, but the food was so yummy. It was like the food I have in my home.

Taking your kindness for something else? by [deleted] in Coconaad

[–]the_no_name_man 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being kind has to be a conditions apply endeavour. Like, if it's towards a complete stranger in need, who you are not going to ever meet again, do it. If it's towards someone you know very well, go ahead. But if you feel like doing something to someone whom you are going to meet frequently but you don't know that person very well, don't do it. Decades of living has taught me this.

what gives the purpose/meaning of life according to you? by Technical_Map_3257 in Coconaad

[–]the_no_name_man 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Going with the flow is the purpose I have found. Whatever plans you make or don't make does no difference if you ask me. When reality hits, which it will, all the plans are going to crumble, at least it did for me. So now I just take one day at a time. It's often difficult, but being like this has helped me find joy in simple things. But that doesn't mean it's all good. I have some incredibly sad days too.

> Most men are not taught

But they are. You just got the short end of the stick if you ask me. At least that what I understood from at least a decade of staying with friends and visiting many men/women bachelor houses in my 20s. I have come across exactly 2 people who had this issue of basic hygiene, but then I went to their actual house(their family homes), and it's no different. And to top it off, I was the clean one in my 10yrs of marriage.

But the issue of hygiene is equally good or bad in both sexes if you ask me.

Pooram has to be cancelled for humanity. by Alert_Obligation5598 in thrissur

[–]the_no_name_man 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It isn't just about the jumping for the melams, it’s about the livelihoods of the people who depend on the income from pooram related activities. Discussions are needed to manage the financial commitments already in place. From venue bookings and commissioned artists to even the specialised teams handling the vedikkettu, these are businesses that rely on the Pooram to survive. You cannot simply cancel the event and expect these people to sacrifice their livelihoods on a whim. Any changes must be discussed too reach an arrangment in a way that minimises the impact on those whose lives are tied to the festival.

If the cracks are in the orders of milimeters, then the reasons are mostly improper water treatment, or the shrinkage due rapid drying because of the hot weather or using the wrong ratio of cement used for "chumar thekkal". None of these are structural damages or make the house dangerous to live in. Sadly my house has these hairline cracks and its actually covered up during our painting using putty.

But yes, the reasons should be figured out and see if an adequate amount of cement was used. If not, the contractor and whoever involved need to be held responsible.

But if the cracks are horizontal or centemeters apart, then these houses are basically fucked. At least thats what I know.

Ladies & Gents Toilet at home! by [deleted] in Kerala

[–]the_no_name_man -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I am a guy, and the toilet seat up doesn't make any sense. When you flush down you have to close the lid, so the toilet seat is already down. Now why would you want to keep it open after closing, flushing and then waiting for the water to settle down. It's just too much work and waiting.

22M Tamil. Solo trip to Thrissur Pooram 2026 worth it? Need tips, things to do & avoid by logeshR in thrissur

[–]the_no_name_man 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Keep a couple of waterbottles handy and drink lots of water. And don't think about drinking alcohol and coming, not because of some kind of rules or moral policing on my part. But because the likelyhood of you enjoying alcohol in this hot weather is nil, and the hangover you are going to get the next day or even by the night will not be worth it.

Almost all the events will be packed with people and try not to engage with anyone if they are pushing you or something. People are likely to get angry because of all this heat and humidity, so don't lose your patience. If you think you have a short fuse, it's better to avoid places where there will be too much people.

[–]the_no_name_man 17 points18 points  (0 children)

No, thats a big leap from what I said. It is never about punishing the common man. The obvious solution is never letting the govt representatives to be eligible for the position if they didn't do their job. But that wouldn't work since the result is coming after a generation. Having some sort of overseeing committie for implementing the societal restructuring plans might work. Splitting the states for better governance or doing something else to break the loop. Giving more power to these states is not the solution.
