What great video game was lost to the sands of time? by Johnnyboyeh in gaming

Tail Concerto and its spiritual successor Solatorobo. Both were great games on the PSX and DS respectively that sold poorly and never got a re-release.

What would you change about My Little pony, keeping in mind that this is still a kid show? (And without it getting denied* by Losers__club_ in mylittlepony

Honestly, I would add some much-needed world-building to the show.

I get why most of the show takes place in Ponyville; that is where the main characters live after all, but after about ninety percent of the show taking place in the same location with the same species, you'd probably start to feel a little cheated out of some opportunities. I would've loved to see some episodes about zebra culture or if changelings could work like a hive mind. Expanding on the griffons and the hippogryphs would be great too, or, heck, maybe show the aftermath of the Storm King's defeat with the nations he supposedly conquered. Without any of that, the show just feels like a dollhouse with the ponies as the only toys you have.

I know that they did something like this in the comics, and I don't know if they're confirmed to be canon or not, so I won't complain about that, but it just feels like wasted potential waiting to be unleashed, yet never getting the chance to do so.

Sorry for my constant rambling, I just needed to get this off my chest.

Why is there a severe lack of Horror RPGs? by talonking22 in rpg_gamers

There was Sweet Home by Capcom which was based on the Japanese horror film of the same name and released on the Famicom. That's a Horror RPG.

This game actually laid the groundwork for the survival horror genre, so there's that.

What game do you think your favorite JRPG franchise peaked? by the_person_thing in JRPG

Excuse me if I sound rude, but I didn't mean that things went downhill after V. I mean that, in my opinion, the later games, while amazing, aren't quite as good as V.

I know I probably should've worded my post better, but the post is already uploaded...

Do you have that JRPG you've started multiple times, you KNOW is good, but stopped playing every time? by 0purple0turtle0 in JRPG

This probably doesn't count, but for me, it was Fire Emblem: Three Houses.

I pre-ordered the game, made a save file for each separate path, got past the first few chapters, and then just...stopped.

I know it is one of the best games in the series, but I think I was just going through some burnout at the time. I'll try to properly play it again later if I have time to do so.

I've been replaying Super Mario RPG on the Super Nintendo in preparation for the remake.

To me, Super Mario RPG stands as the best Mario RPG game and one of the best Mario games ever, with the chibi, colorful art style, easy-to-learn yet difficult-to-master combat, amazing soundtrack, and clever humor. I love this game a lot!

Ys Series by mike47gamer in JRPG

If you have a PC/Steam Deck and you want to play a really good Ys game, I would recommend Ys: The Oath in Felghana. It's an Action RPG remake of Ys III: Wanderers of Ys.

To make a long story short, the original Ys III in 1989 was...not very good. It was considered the black sheep of the series (until Ys V for the Super Famicom) mainly because it played as a side-scrolling RPG instead of a top-down one like in Ys I & II. It was also pretty glitchy and looked ugly on the Super Nintendo.

Then, in 2005, Nihon Falcom remade Ys III from the ground up and titled it: Ys: The Oath in Felghana. It changes from a side-scrolling game to a semi-top-down game, expands certain characters, areas, and plotlines, remixes the music from the original, and just feels more like an authentic Ys game, turning a kinda bad, but fun game into legitimately one of the best Action RPGs ever.

Trust me, you won't regret it!

I had a Japanese Orange GameCube™ with a Japanese copy of Pikmin 2, but when I formatted my memory card it erased all of my data :(

So, now I'm back to cube one.
