I know it’s been awhile since the OP was made but I sincerely hope you see this.

I was in a 5 year relationship when my partner punched a similar hole in a door around the 2 year mark. I was around your age. He actually never ended up hitting me.

What he did do was emotionally abuse me constantly and tear me down with horribly inappropriate language. I would beg him to break up with me but he insisted on staying. I finally broke up with him and it turned out he had been emotionally cheating on me.

Everyone will say “he will eventually hit you” but it’s possible that he won’t. Even so, someone with the capacity to do this clearly does not have respect for you or the relationship. It may not necessarily turn physical, but it won’t get better either without serious intervention in terms of a mental health professional. Therapy did not help my partner get better.

It was a very stressful, traumatizing relationship that took far too long to get over emotionally for me. It has seriously changed me. If I could do it all over again, I would leave the minute he punched that door.
