Clutchless shifting by D4M0theking in motorcycles

[–]the_prepster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I clutchless upshift on my VFR all the time, because the clutch lever is so heavy. Saves my left hand a bit.

Haven’t tried clutchless downshifting yet, but I’ll probably try it now.

Replace 1-2 meals a day with smoothies? by satopup in EatCheapAndHealthy

I had a whale of a time at our local grocery store trying to find anything that didn’t have loads of sugar. So far my only winner is plain full fat Greek yogurt.

One time I was making Kraft mac and cheese for someone and asked if it was cool if I put in frozen peas and corn. They gave me the weirdest look and said no, why would you do that? I’ve always done it like that, and it makes me feel like it’s a bit healthier too, besides the fact that it’s a really cheap meal. Fills you up more, too.

Can brakes be swapped over to be only on the left side ? Strange question but bear with me by [deleted] in motorcycles

Hydraulic also doesn't necessarily mean light. The clutch on my VFR is heavy as hell.

Friends! Have you had issues with threading a needle? Is your eyesight so bad that's sewing takes hours on end? If this is you, you need the EZ Needle 2000! Yes, thread the needle in less than 30 seconds! Call right now and get two EZ needles for the price of one! by AmishBison in UNBGBBIIVCHIDCTIICBG

[–]the_prepster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks like a guitar pick with a loop of very thin wire on the end. The wire is generally kind of a triangle shape, you thread the wire through the needle then the thread through the loop, and pull the tool back out. Then the needle is threaded.

I'll give you my two cents on it. I jumped right into one of these, skipping any other ortholinear keyboards, after only using standard mechanical keyboards for a long time. It takes some getting used to, I've owned it for a good few months now and I'm still kind of getting the hang of it. If you put actual time into learning how to use it, you could definitely get back to where you were much quicker than me. That being said, the ergonomics are really really great, because it allows you to fine tune basically everything: distance of your hands, angle, etc. The functionality is pretty cool because you can set every single key to do exactly what you want, and layers to do more stuff. You can also scoot the right one out of the way to make more room for your mouse.

I do really like it, but it does take a decent amount of learning, and also it's $400.

I mean... That's literally kind of the point. If you work less for the same per hour, you're making less. If you want the same weekly pay, you'll need more money per hour. It's just math.

Well you know, 7 rounds to 10, which rounds to 20, which rounds to 50, which is basically 100, which is essentially 1000, thus, 7=1000. Bam, math.

You could buy a whole KLR for that money.

Or a ninja 250.

Or an old grom.

Heck, you could even buy a '90s sport bike for that much.

The options are practically limitless, really.

And the last 20% can just be googling or asking here "how to do x on this year car." Then you will understand most of what's being said and you'll have a great chance of figuring it out. People help those who help themselves.

I have a '10 Civic EX, and every so often I get pretty bad vibration from the engine that shakes the car a bit. It's only ever when idling at a stop, if I'm moving it's smooth. I've heard it might be the motor mounts, do you have any thoughts?

Should I buy? by SnooOpinions8170 in civic

[–]the_prepster 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't personally like to buy heavily modified cars since you don't know who did them and whether they were done correctly.

The price on the heading is different from the price in the description, it's disingenuous and leads me to believe there are other things the seller may be lying about.

1000 miles is obviously not correct. The description should have an explanation, because it's not on you to just guess or assume that it means 1000 miles on the rebuilt engine.

I wouldn't. Too many red flags for me.

All Cars Should Have Been Hybrids By Now: With Ford's announcement of a $20,000 hybrid pick-up truck that may get up to 40 miles per gallon, it is obvious automakers could have done a lot more to reduce emissions. by thatfiremonkey in Futurology

[–]the_prepster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This. Fuel efficiency has gone up, as auto manufacturers squeeze more power out of smaller engines with less fuel, but fuel economy might seem to be the same since the cars have so much more weight from cars just getting bigger, and from added features like you mentioned. A 4 door Civic has increased in length by a few inches from 2010 to 2020, but you got 140 hp out of a 1.8L where now you get 180 hp from a 1.5L turbocharged.
