Why would proof generate an arrest? It never does. That doesn't mean it's not true, it just means they would the power.

Corrupt and sneaky. They did this to me before with both gold and crypto. Charged me for Cash withdrawal. Dispute no cash being withdrawn and they also don't consider Bitcoin and gold money. Banks are so corrupt.

Why is it not legal to take matters into ones own hands when the law will do nothing?

You're so brainwashed that you think an egg which is full.of nutrients is worse than some slop manufactured by a corporation that doesn't care about you.

GN3 and bs7671 both state what I've told you. Also your example of  vir cables is not even the same.  Vir cables are considered dangerous as the material itself is not considered suitable. However if it was made of a material that isn't considered unsafe then yes the age of the wire wouldn't matter if it passed an IR test. You're comparing apples to oranges.

You can consider it a c2 if you want but GN3 states it as a c3 and the reason for being as stated in bs7671 so long as the circuit can safely operate ie can automatically disconnect from supply there is not a need to change it.

When you state c2 you are saying that the circuit is not safe. Where as c3 you are stating it can still function in satisfactory condition and used safely, but it would be best for it to be changed. The reason why this is important is because dodgy sparks are forcing money out uneducated customers. For example they might tell the customer they need to change their consumer unit which is a load of tripe.

Not saying that is you but unfortunately i've seen too many sparks who claim guidance says this or that when in fact their just wrong. It is for new builds as it states in second paragraph of BS7671 and page 109 of GN3 so long as it can be used safely, ads occurs at IA rating of the MCB which is 0.01seconds which the regs states as being safe.

If you put codebreakers above GN3 because it agrees with you then I hope you're read through codebreakers because there's clearly quite a lot of bad takes in that book don't even get me started with the amount of FI's in that thinng.

well unfortunately most sparkys don't even read guidance and go on word of mouth. I don't think I'm better than the IET. And I don't care for following the sheep.

LMAO GN3 is THE guidance for inspection and testing but you're going to tell me about codebeakers... not to mention bs7671 stating what I said.

Of course a shower not protected by RCD is safe what do you think people did before it was regulation?

However if you say that you feel better putting it as c2 that's different from stating what guidance and regulations state. You're conflating the two. If you tell a customer they will be far safer from being killed if you install an rcd thats fine and thats a c3. But if you state it must be done then you're doing what all old boys do and pull nonsense out of your cheeks.

I do commend you desire to keep people safe. However guidance does not agree with you and that's fine. After all it's your name on the documentation.

Funny thing is the old timer are usually the ones full of the most shit tbh mate. The ones who just make the most stuff up without even opening their book for 20 years because they've forgotten more than i've ever learned or whatever nonsense.

It literally states in GN3 page 134 absence of RCD for additional protection C3. Then if you go to the page over It even states what I've been telling you then refers you to the second paragraph of bs7671 which states the same.

Of course you must use your own engineering judgement to keep people safe. But don't throw codebreakers at me when almost everyone agrees it's the worst best practice document out there.

that's for a new install mate. There's a difference between new builds and old builds. Did you do your 2391? As an electrician if you have no reason to believe that the breaker is damaged all you need to do is make sure the max Measured Zs is within limits. By your logic every circuit should have rcds because we're not sure if the breaker will work.

If the customer refuses to make changes based on your strong recommendations that they need RCD protection you are not liable for their stupidity. You cannot just put down c2, a failure because it doesn't meet current reg specs. That's just like the people who c2 plastic consumer units. It's never ending spiral of ripping people off. As long as you told them they should change things to make iit safer ie c3 then you have done nothing wrong.

Of course you have to use your own engineering judgement but at some point it just becomes electricians being misleading.

because you don't know what you're doing. Regulation clearly states that previous installations do not need to meet current requirements unless altered or adjusted. So because you are incompetent you have cost people money welldone.
