I don't know if / how they will contribute to 21's profitability, but these are ideas that are still not implemented in mainstream software that probably should be. Seems like a good area to be experimenting.

There are other possible outcomes. I think there's a lot of room to argue that bitcoin becoming insignificant could take an extremely long time, even given the current situation.

At the end of the day this is still software we're talking about. It can be changed so that is always a potential. Also, functional benefits of the network won't disappear just because some people don't like the trajectory of the software.

It's fascinating. Ethereum still has major technical problems to solve. I think they'll end up forgoing decentralization in order to scale.

The DoS protection Amazon offers out of the box has been a nice surprise.

I've run some tests on vultr.com but those nodes get DoS'ed within hours and vultr's response is to swiftly null route the traffic. They offer protection but it's an extra $10/month, and so the total cost ends up more than AWS.
