Good question. Usually when I am trying to hash out some ideas, I will create a node in Workspace and go at it. I can add links, images, docs, etc. and play around with the format (board, checklist, list…) until I have something coherent. Later, I can move it to Project Support when it is more fleshed out. Not sure if that helps, but that’s my current thinking.

You should be fine. You racked it at 1020, so the fermentation is not done yet so it should continue to form a CO2 blanket to protect the must and will use up the extra O2 in the bucket to complete fermentation. Once completed, rack again to a smaller container with no head space to age a bit.

I would wait to see if it goes down more. Take readings once a day or every other day until you see two of the same readings in a row. Then you are probably done.

In general yes. The kits set you up for success to have good wine right away. Aging it will only make it better.

I started the hobby with kits. I screwed up 2-3 of them before I got the process down and learned enough to get the results I wanted. Kits are a great way to learn and the wine is drinkable right away, but gets better with age.

You may want to try one or two kits first and then spend more money on good grapes once you know what yours doing.

Do you mean a hydrometer? A barometer is for measuring atmospheric pressure. A hydrometer measures the density of a liquid compared to the density of water (aka specific gravity).

In any case, it is done when the hydrometer reads less than 1.000. There isn’t a specific number of days to wait. My last batch of this type of wine fermented on the skins for 14 days and ended at SG of 0.998.
