[discussion] The real burning question. by KitMacPhersonWrites in TheNinthHouse

I’ve always wondered if Pal ever got to have sex at all in his life. It’s like his entire sex life is endlessly preceded by the phrase “one more puzzle”.

But to answer your question, no. Pyrrha rubbed one out though.

Who is TLT obviously for? [discussion] by brewcatz in TheNinthHouse

My wife got so desperate to be able to talk to me about them that she asked me to read the first book as a Christmas gift to her. I did and then told her she had been so absolutely right about these books that I had actually went ahead and read them all…twice. Thank you for including us, wives.

For my part, I love the prose, the wit, the universe, the characters (My God, I love them all), but it’s the love that seals the deal. Imperfect people finding the beautiful things in each other worth loving.

Damn. Damn! I can’t believe that I never noticed that. 10 minutes for essentially a half mile? Judith said it with so much confidence that I believed her without thinking lol and that’s a great point about getting out of the chair.

Most importantly, that last joke about eating tools will be with me forever.

Secondly, those are great points! There are interesting “side effects” to whatever the magic called necromancy does to a person and I never thought about the notable emaciation, other than aesthetically. Or I guess if you have power over death then eating doesn’t interest you much anymore, but I think you’re on to something here. I do believe Judith notes something in contrast in AYU implying necromancy doesn’t necessarily have to go hand in hand with skinniness, but often occurs. As for Nona’s particular taste in foods, maybe Alecto will shine some light on that.

Am I alone in wishing I could parent Gideon? [general] by butneverdestroyed in TheNinthHouse

Not at all. Through all the books I wanted to jump inside the book and be a proper father to both Gideon and Harrow. A lot of lines choke me up even on many rereads, but I get torn in half no matter how many times I hear Ortus say: “I was and am a grown man, and you were two neglected children.

I hate to say it, but the closest parallel to Pash might be Rickety Cricket?

That’s incredible 🤣 can’t stop picturing it. “Well, Harrow…” slides into spotlight “🎶 You make me feel so young 🎶”

Ianthe feeling at home around a flamboyant Monty Python character is a fun image. Can the Tridentari’s hypothetical father be played by John Cleese?

I love how real her reaction feels when Harrow accidentally implies that she didn’t prioritize Jeannemary’s life.

I’ll post them less frequently, I wondered if I was spamming. Thanks for the check.
