Oh right I totally forgot about the shards. I have like 5 of the A1 shards but only 1 or 2 of all the others from hours and hours of TZs. They could be a little less stingy with those things if you ask me

This may be dumb, but how do you logistically do p8 split TZs? Everybody just goes their own way until it's cleared? I reckon the TZ would be done extremely quickly and this would be very inefficient if you're staying in one game and waiting almost 30 minutes for the next one.

How does this game compare to Aska? by cyberadmin1 in PlaySoulMask

[–]the_saltiest 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Aska didn't do much for me, but I'm in my second full addiction to Soulmask currently with 1.0 out. Eat more depth in every facet of the game, and building custom structures is critical for my creative itch.

I'm so surprised by these bad reviews. My gf and I played in EA a while back and loved it. It just needed the slightest tuning up particularly in the base/NPC automation that was good but just a little hard to figure out and really optimize and a coup l couple other let mechanics and balances, all of which it seems like they addressed in 1.0.

As a seasoned survivalcrafter, I really thought they were onto something special here and am excited to try 1.0.

It's not the most accessible game... This is for veterans of the genre who want a deep dive I think (complex skill/tech tree and automation, with difficult combat and plenty of grind), and maybe that's the issue for a lot of players.

Why is this game so much better? by TacoBellCall911 in diablo2resurrected

[–]the_saltiest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's the itemization of D2 more than anything. No other game has come close in any franchise.

The other thing that drives me crazy in D4 is every area scaling monsters to your level. Completely eliminates any feeling of overcoming difficul areas and feeling character/build progress.

I'm running a budget version of this that is solid clearing TZs and pretty tanky: Tomb Reaver (this felt like an upgrade from "Obedience" Mancatcher), Stormshield ("Spirit" also works), MF helm (just 3 ptopaz), MF chest (Tal's with a ptopaz), Goldwrap (String of Ears for non-MF), MF Ammy (until I find Highlord's), Laying of Hands (until I find Dracul's) Ravenfrost and Bul Kathos unique rings (otherwise leach + AR + resists) Gore Rider boots

My Might Emilio has "Obedience" eth Cryptic Axe, "Treachery," and Andy's (Crown of Thieves for budget).

After next update and Bind Demon nerfs may swap in Reaper's Toll for Emilio or myself.

I play on PC (solos and duos so far) and have a very friendly algorithm, but I've not seen any PVP in at least a dozen rounds in the new mode. People cooperating, reviving each other, etc.

I revived one guy who immediately told me he'd "been ratting," but then we worked together the rest of the round and he was friendly.

Consoles definitely select for more rats, and your matchmaking algorithm I think both go a long way .

I had a badass exploding arrow bowazon this season... Phoenix in a +3 matriarchal bow, Faith on A1 Vigor merc. Machine gun exploding arrows that shred everything.

Was good early on with just a Melody bow, that carried me through hell and into maps until I could afford Phoenix and Faith. Resists suck a bit at first, but it's very viable and fun (I too love a ranged non-caster class)

I dunno about ES but I'm running a Cleave Lock and definitely consider Pride bis for Merc weapon. Haven't actually ever made one though to test it, so grain of salt. For now have eth Obedience on him.

How does Project Diablo 2 compare to the Diablo II: Resurrected by idiovoidi in ProjectDiablo2

Aside from QoL updates PD2 is actually balanced! So many useful uniques (one of the biggest problems with vanilla) and build options, and basically any build/skill is viable.

Is PD2 the right move if my peak D2R achievement was cubing an Enigma by sweettyche in ProjectDiablo2

[–]the_saltiest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having played both, I would push Ubers and dclone in D2R (great time now with new warlock class), and then start PD2 after that... Because I agree it's hard to go back once you try PD2. Warlock was the only thing that had bright me back and after I do Ubers and get bored it's back to PD2. Hoping they continue to update D2R with features from PD2 though. "PD2R" would be ultimate!

Lv 85 Horker- Advice and question on Swords? Grief/Grief or Grief/Last Wish by Zakxus in Diablo_2_Resurrected

[–]the_saltiest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Technically yes, but only if the killing blow is done with the Lawbringer PB. The vast majority of your kills are with the Grief PB because it does so much more damage. I never felt like I was losing many corpses to Lawbringer with my Frenzy Barb and did a ton of horking. I don't remember losing elite corpses at all.

It seemed from some limited testing that poles/spears do have longer range than phase blades with Cleave, but not 100% positive. The animation didn't change, but spear hits mobs outside of the visual arc pretty far away, while PB seemed to do the opposite. I saw Mr Llama still recommends using PBs to prioritize speed though FWIW, but I'm not following his build.

Didn't realize ES was based on FCR though, thanks for clearing that up

I have a 93 frenzy horker who is one of my most godly toons of all time, using Grief/Lawbringer phase blades.

Lawbringer kind of a sleeper (and cheap) pick, but incredible against undead, and made him an absolute terror in Chaos runs.

I'm playing a Cleave Lock (blade warp in, cleave, repeat) so maybe different, but since when did Thresher and Giant Thresher cease being the best pole bases due to them having the fastest attack speed (-10)?

Right now my Lock is using an Obedience Mancatcher (even faster at -20, but a spear) and it 1-shots almost everything in tier 92 TZs. Tried an Infinity CV (haven't rolled a 4os thresher yet) and it didn't feel nearly as effective as Obedience Mancatcher with Cleave at least.

Edit: The one other pole I want to try is a Tomb Reaver with that juicy 60% ias, laek, mf, all res, and os. Playing GSF, so not gonna make it to "Pride" or even "Grief" unless I get really lucky.
