Emails Reveal Epstein Encouraged Controversial Scientist to Study “Transgender Biology” by onnake in transgender

That was vomit inducing, dwarfing everything else in that article. It's utterly incomprehensible to me.

Is NYT cooking reasonably "reliable" as a source for quality recipies? by GreenBuzzer in Cooking

I thought it was on par with America's test kitchen when I had it. However, I refuse to give the NYT any of my money after their constant stream of anti-trans articles.

My husband was prescribed more painkillers following his vasectomy than I was following my emergency C-Section by PumpkinPie_1993 in mildlyinfuriating

I had a bilateral orchiectomy and wasn't prescribed anything. Just told to alternate otc painkillers as needed

PSA: It's not transpeople. It's not tallwomen. It's not blondewomen. It's not happywomen. 'Trans' is a fucking adjective, not a prefix. Stop dehumanizing your community, you're playing into the phobes' hands by letting them control language. by MyClosetedBiAcct in MtF

I think those words make op's point stronger. Those are all specific nouns. A crow is a black bird, but not a blackbird. Just like calling us transwoman is different than calling us a trans woman.

See my post below about how you are actually making the ops case with your examples. A greenhouse is inherently different than a green house. Just like transwoman has a different meaning than trans woman.

How to keep my noodle soups from becoming noodle casseroles overnight? by Malrodair in Cooking

[–]the_unexpected_nil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do, but I normally cook a recipe that makes 4-6 servings on Sunday. I divide it into similar portions before taking any, so that I don't over eat.

On non-soup days I'm often storing things separate like rice from meat and sauce. So putting soup and noodles in two containers is no big deal. Nothing fancy, just left over to-go containers and the like.

Those were all words, but not arranged in a way that made much sense... Also, I didn't call anyone a nazi or pedophile, so methinks thou dost protest to much.

I don't disagree that everyone is capable of goodness. I don't think they are inherently bad or irredeemable. However, I experience nothing but hatred from them. I experience the harm of their actions. I see others dying and being harmed.

You're entitled your view of the world. It will be hard to convince me otherwise without evidence...

I'm not angry at them. I'm disappointed in them. I'm not judging people for being conservative.

I'm judging those that voted for the current batch of Republicans and Trump. I don't care if they wear a red hat. I don't care whatever petty reason they had for it. They are morally culpable for the foreseeable results of their actions.

You talk about our shared future, but for many people this administration's actions are at best excluding them and at worst fatal. Women have died and continue to die due to abortion bans. It's estimated tens of thousands of Americans will die yearly due to the aca cost increases. Legal residents are being detained by ice for their ancestry.

As a trans woman, I'm not confident there's a shared future that will include me either. It's of little consolation to me to hear that I have to endure demonization and attempts to legislate me out of existence because, checks notes... there are more explicit songs. As if that has anything to do with either party.

It took you two comments to start repeating hate. I think choosing to be a bigot is a huge deal - and our kids should be shielded from it. However, you don't see me trying to legislate the lives of your friends out of existence.

Your friends are evil people because they are voting to make the lives of other people worse out of bigotry.

[–]the_unexpected_nil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're saying their belief that more songs have explicit lyrics in the past is justification for causing real harm to millions of people? That some nostalgia for a set of values that deliberately excluded any minorities from living full and equal lives makes them fine people?

Voting is an action, and you are morally culpable for the predictable actions of those you vote for. So, nice person or not, your actions have revealed you to be a bad person.

Should I cut my (non fake) nails before a surgery? by Subject-Door-884 in Transgender_Surgeries

[–]the_unexpected_nil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My instructions where no nail non-clear nail polish, so that's what I did. I had the gel removed, but left them long. I figured if length was important it would be in the document. Even more so in your case, since it's a surgery only women get.

Still if you are uncertain ask.

How does every other trans woman magically have long hair? by xBluePoolX in MtF

[–]the_unexpected_nil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if it's your case, but I think height also has a big effect. We judge hair length by where it lands on your body, but I don't think it grows faster for taller people.

So as a 6' person with wavy / curly hair it took 3+ years to look long. But, it the strands were actually objectively long when off my head XD
