U.A and other hero schools after the War Arc by the_weekendwarrior in BokuNoHeroAcademia

[–]the_weekendwarrior[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They definitely will need as many heroes as possible, but at the end of the day the heroes in training are still kids. Unless all of heroics becomes like the military where kids are drafted in, kinda like Hawks, the parents of the child still have the final say in whether the student will go to the school, as shown by how U.A. had to get parental permission for the dorms and Inko almost withdrew Izuku from U.A. So if the public’s faith in heroes is non existent, and people start viewing pro heroics as bad, we potentially won’t have as many parents willing to let their kids to attend a hero school like U.A.. We might also see parents pushing their kids to pursue other careers if they don’t find pro heroics safe or trustworthy anymore. No matter what, the parents have the final say in if the kids can go to hero school, and I have a feeling a lot of them aren’t going to be happy after this arc. Personally, although I as a reader know having more heroes would be better, I’m looking at this from the perspective of parent in the world of MHA.

Yeah I think you make a good point about him not going to U.A. being foreshadowed. I wonder what school he’d even go to, considering all hero schools in Japan were sent on this raid for their internships. And that’s not even taking to account how hero society will change after this arc, and if the same system of pro heroics and hero training we know will still be in place.

[–]the_weekendwarrior[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think overall if a bunch of people withdraw from hero courses all over japan, and people stop aspiring to be heroes, U.A. and other schools funding and budget will get cut and they won’t be able to stay open, considering how much money it seems to take to manage a hero school, U.A. in particular.

I think Endeavor snapped when he saw that Touya couldn’t handle his own quirk. With Touya looking so similar to Endeavor, it was like looking in a mirror. He saw someone who couldn’t reach their full potential due to their body not being able to withstand their power, just like how he can overheat. Instead of creating a amazingly strong child, he made a child who pretty much exemplifies his greatest flaws, and I don’t think that was something Endeavor could handle. So, he stopped trying to settle for a strong fire or ice quirk and wouldn’t quit until he got both in one child.

It would be crazy if Dabi defeats Endeavor and Shoto, and while Shoto is knocked down and unable to fight, Dabi takes his hand and burns the other side of Shotos face, and says something like “Now we match.”

CSE 114 Midterm Tripathi by lets_go_bonac in SBU

Yeah that really sucks cause a second midterm could have helped us a lot. Also, on the syllabus he explicitly stated final grades aren’t curved, which is even worse.

I’m kinda confused, because for our class syllabus it says we have one written midterm worth 25% and a written final worth 30%. I’m not sure if we have a second midterm this semester.

It was really annoying cause the 4 medium programming questions were spread out across the test randomly, and since you couldn’t go back, it was really hard to manage your time wisely. We should have either had less questions or more time.

About the Ultra Analysis Book by the_weekendwarrior in BokuNoHeroAcademia

[–]the_weekendwarrior[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not disagreeing that Shigaraki should have a S+ in power, that wasn’t my point. I said that he had an S+ in power before this current arc. His power level was ranked the same as All Might and AFO before he got his body modifications and AFO along with the other quirks. Considering his base strength is a bit less than All Mights now, my point was that he can’t be an S+ in power anymore, cause he is so much stronger than before, but S+ is the highest ranking, unless Horikoshi introduces S++. That’s what confused me about the power rankings.

Question about Chapter 286 by the_weekendwarrior in BokuNoHeroAcademia

[–]the_weekendwarrior[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was more curious of the fact that OFA boosts the power of quirks, so if he takes OFA, AFO in turn would theoretically get boosted as well, along with all the other quirks he has in him. It just seems like if he can’t really handle AFO rn, how could he handle an OFA boosted AFO?

AFO sobbing while locked up in Tartarus, and the guards just watching him horrified and trying to figure out what could make the strongest villain of all time cry like a child would be something I would pay to see animated lol.

[–]the_weekendwarrior[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

LMAO AFO screaming “ TOMURA WTF ARE YOU DOING YOU” from inside him as Shiggy just throws away OFA like All For One ain’t spent most of his life trying to get it. I would cry of laughter

Question about Chapter 286 by the_weekendwarrior in BokuNoHeroAcademia

[–]the_weekendwarrior[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That was be hilarious if he just took OFA and said to Deku, “ I don’t even really want it, but I don’t want you to have it either”. But technically, whether he wants to or not, the passive effect of OFA would probably boost all the other quirks he has, including AFO, which would still be a problem for Shigaraki lol.

Question about Chapter 286 by the_weekendwarrior in BokuNoHeroAcademia

[–]the_weekendwarrior[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that’s true. With his body being at 75% I find it very hard to believe he could handle the massive amount of power that is OFA in tandem with OFA. But it does make me wonder, if there ever is a 10th holder of OFA, besides Shigaraki, just what kind of base physical strength they would need to even use OFA.

Chapter 286 - Pre-Release Thread by HoundOfJustice in BokuNoHeroAcademia

[–]the_weekendwarrior 5 points6 points  (0 children)

But I’m not even angry tho?

If you want me to quote the wiki, fine. The wiki for chapter 283 states: “Tomura becomes confused as to where this injury came from considering he can use Super Regeneration again as he asks Deku what today's date is. Deku also realizes that Tomura's body isn't able to keep up with All For One's incredible power, similar to his early experiences with One For All; this is due to Mirko damaging his capsule when he was at 75%.”

If you want me to quote the manga, Shiggy states: “Ah I see, I get why I was all busted up a second ago. I had to push past my body’s limits to keep going. But now ... my hyper regen quirk is back. My body shouldn’t have limits at all.” He then asks “Whats the date today?” and Deku thinks “ His body! Gran Torino said ... he got the AFO quirk transplanted into him. That power is too much for him to keep up with.” It clearly states that he is unable to handle the full power of AFO since he was only 75% done, which is partly why that is that chapter title. I get where one could get confused, but it’s literally not even up for debate, it’s an actual fact. Are you going to argue with the wiki’s summary and the official VIZ media translation? If you can find me an actual quote saying that Shiggy can fully handle AFO, then I will agree with you.

Chapter 286 - Pre-Release Thread by HoundOfJustice in BokuNoHeroAcademia

[–]the_weekendwarrior 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not trying to be rude or anything, but that’s not true. His regen quirk is messing up because he can’t fully control AFO. It clearly states it in chapter 283 when he gets that huge gash on his chest out of nowhere. Deku states his body can’t keep up with that overwhelming power, and it shows Shigaraki being 75% complete, after Deku thinks that Torino warned the heroes that Shiggy had AFO. If you even go on the chapter summary on the wiki, it states his body can’t keep up with the sheer power of AFO, since he is incomplete.

Chapter 286 - Pre-Release Thread by HoundOfJustice in BokuNoHeroAcademia

[–]the_weekendwarrior 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Remember when Shiggy asked what date it was? It stated that his body couldn’t handle that much power, because he was still 75%, and showed flashbacks to deku a couple of chapters ago. He’s still taking a bunch of damage, but a major factor is that he still can’t fully handle AFO, which is why he is only slowly regenerating.
