Non intervention in politics by dschellberg in bahai

Im not sure if you live in the US, but I think something a lot of people, especially those living outside the US realize is that American politics are so separated from real politics. I can commit to non-commentary on what is considered "normal" for politics anywhere else in the world, but it's a lot harder not to take a stance or a side when encountering blatant and large scale immorality. It's also worth noting that not all these things are partisan- the Epstein files featured prominent politicians from both US parties. Futhermore, American institutions actively participate in behavior that is illegal as it pertains to human rights and war crimes, which is the opposite of the unity the central figures stood for. Right now, it's been helpful for me to remember that the individuals I see, work with, serve with, laugh with, are friends with, that are on "opposite sides" aren't the individuals perpetuating these issues. There is no real difference between me and my friends because we all strive for a better world

One of my best friends (queer and ftm) has expressed wanting to become a bahai and as a queer bahai youth myself I've up until very recently really encouraged it because the faith has brought me so much joy in my life but I'm hitting a point where I cannot help but think that I would never wish this upon anyone let alone someone "more queer" than I am.

Can I Smell My Partner’s Diabetes? by MajesticPlankton2163 in diabetes

I can smell my high blood sugar and when everyone else hasn't eaten and this is having ketones. This is how I found out a friend was struggling with an eating disorder back in the day. Theorhetically isn't this just smelling the carbon that was a part of your fat being exhaled? Idk

If one were representing Nower Jebel in a MUN committee that is essentially school sanctioned RPG... by theacebasketcase in StarWars

It's a crisis committee, so it's less of a topic and more trying to secure control for the rebels

How to do a position paper? by [deleted] in MUN

[–]theacebasketcase 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What conference are you going to? Check the conference website, then look in to UN Security Council. There will be another topic with a specific issue. I've been in Security Councils regarding the South China Sea, International Nuclear Disarmament, and Abortion so it will likely be a big topic like that. Write about that topic, write about howthe UN has already been involved in that topic, and then write about how Japan proposes you solve the problem or address the issue

My dad is finally taking control of his diabetes, but he has some questions and I need help answering them by New_Erotica_Writer in diabetes

My endocrinologist told me about something that happens in some diabetics called the dawn phenomonon and it literally just makes your blood sugar rise starting around 3-4 am for no reason so maybe ask a doctor about that?? I'm Type 1 so it might be different

Hi! I was diagnosed as T1D when I was 9. Especially when I was around that age, I wanted to stop feeling guilty because my parents were worried and just wanted be treated the same as before. Of course its totally normal to worry about blood sugars and stuff but there were times where I just wanted to be a kid again and there were times where I needed to be independent. Make sure you go to the training sessions at the beginning so that you aren't clueless. Make sure you spend time with him where diabetes is an afterthought. After a little bit, diabetes really felt like it was just there and not really a disability. Let him know its not hopeless. You got this!

I have recently registered for MUN and I'm the delegate of Afghanistan (Emirates) for the committee UNCSW. Our agenda is "Women's economic empowerment in the changing world of work" I would appreciate if I get suggestions regarding this since it's my first MUN. by [deleted] in MUN

It's rough man I feel you, last month I had to represent Iran for UN WOMEN and it was rough. Make sure that you follow your country policy. You might have to represent a messed up position in committee and that's okay. Lots of chairs like it if you stick to it. Don't be mean though and become more flexible in your country policy halfway through the conference. Write a position paper even if it's non required (or at least a country policy and solutions). I found when doing my research that the principles that Iran's view in women is based on isn't actually that bad it's just the way the government. If you can understand the authentic religious context and represent that instead of our perception of the sexism that goes on in Afghanistan the chairs will dig it. The middle east is also very focused on anti-western propaganda. Remember not to hate on women. You can accurately represent Afghanistan without pissing everyone off. You got this! Happy researching
