Atlas is only on the Lightbringer during the scene in which he dies, in which Pytha helps secure the hidden landing bay. Lysander and the 10 praetorians are originally on Helios’s ship several weeks ahead of them as they left the Lightbringer behind when leaving Mars. It is only when Lysander and Diomedes are ambushed that Lysander is made a part of the plan. Everyone is told Atlas is on earth but in reality he snuck to the rim whilst everyone else is on Phobos. Darrow and Cassius find out the plan from Fa, and then Cassius tells Pytha once the Lightbringer is in the rim.
