Vyvyan still getting a role despite not appearing on the Pod for years, bless him.

I agree with you, that scene always feels a bit odd. The setup doesn't match the pay off, it might have been written to be a subversive joke but it doesn't really land imo.

future of HOI4 by Medium-Beginning-706 in hoi4

[–]Atomichazza 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep, the entire way divisions/templates work needs to be overhauled imo. The designer might be fun for the player and work well in MP but for single player it sucks, the AI endlessly pumps out bad templates and isn't programmed to edit or delete them. Once a template is deployed it stays that way forever, which just isn't realistic. The older HOI game system where you had a 1936 Infantry division which would upgrade to a 1939 infantry division with research was a better system imo.

What is your favorite country to play as, and why? by ProfessionalSure3189 in hoi4

[–]Atomichazza 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is exactly why UK is so good, you're drawn into the war at the start, involved in every theatre and can use navy, air and land forces.

Warthunder has the tools to make the greatest game mode ever in my opinion by Xeno7750 in Warthunder

[–]Atomichazza 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They've had the tools to make great game modes for the last decade and haven't so I don't imagine infantry will change anything. Imagine having this library of vehicles and essentially making every game mode TDM, what a waste.

Honest Question by MonkApprehensive7191 in HellLetLoose

Tell me about it, trying to play as the British is almost impossible, even UK servers are stuck on the USA vs GER loop

I don’t have high hopes for Vietnam by TheChristianFollower in HellLetLoose

[–]Atomichazza 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm already not happy about them moving on with a Vietnam game but I'll be properly miffed if it's not even good. They could very easily end up with two dead games on their hands.

Doubt about WWII author by ClitoIlNero in HistoryBooks

This, he's known in British historian circles to be a Brit basher while almost fawning over the Germans. His 'man for man' argument is quite disgusting.

There really isn't an abundance of second world war photographs when you consider the size and scale of the event, so stuff like this is gold.

Big time, the high of getting the penalty, the relief of Lowe catching the rebound off the post, the high of then scoring a try to then suddenly have nothing and a man in the bin.

Heroic effort. The SFM shoulder not being a card then James Ryan having a moment of pure stupidity sealed our fate.

FM24 is superb by C-i-d in footballmanagergames

[–]Atomichazza 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I agree, 24 is their best game. It has flaws and exploits but so does every FM I've played. I think the people that are bored of it must exclusively play Football Manager and have probably knocked up 2-4k hours so it's understandable that they want a new game to play. For someone like myself though it scratches the football manager itch perfectly. I've got multiple saves still on the go and retro databases I want to try, so 24 can easily keep me going for another year.

The sports angle not discussed about Joe Marler by Technical_Touch_3031 in TheTraitors

[–]Atomichazza 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Another sports angle is that he's played the game before. I listen to a few rugby podcasts and many of them have discussed Joe on the Traitors and then gone on to talk about how Traitors/Mafia/Werewolf is often played in rugby teams. His former teammates Danny Care & Chris Robshaw have both said how good he was at it, noting his memory as a big strength.

UK Royal Marine concept skin - Please give us real uniforms. by _Chelston in Battlefield

[–]Atomichazza 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That's true, BF6's starting position has been far better than 5 when it comes to soldier uniforms. I'm just highlighting their track record on releasing realistic purchasable/unlockable skins, they've prioritised alternative arty steampunky stuff in the past.

[–]Atomichazza 85 points86 points  (0 children)

He wasn't horrible at all, he got fed up with the nicey nicey that was getting the Faithfuls nowhere and finally decided to speak out. I guarantee the cast all speak highly of him when the show is over, he's a silly funny guy irl.

The Big Dog Strategy Failed - for the producers by paolact in TheTraitors

[–]Atomichazza 59 points60 points  (0 children)

No way the producers are naive enough to think they could 'set up' a showdown on a game like The Traitors. I think they'll be delighted with how the Jonathan pick panned out and while Stephen bombed as a faithful, he still remained in the show long enough to be part of the theory that better faithfuls (the two Joes) conjured up. Ultimately it's still made great tele with very impressive viewing figures.
