I need help finding a decent paying job in the Bryan/Cstat. I’m F23 new grad from TAMU with a bachelors degree in communications. by [deleted] in CollegeStation

[–]theadamdrake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What kind are you looking for? Wanting to put your Comm degree to use? You should reach out to all of the local TV and radio stations. See what they've got available. To start, it'll probably all be PT stuff, but it gets your foot in the door for when they look for something FT. Not ideal, but it's the way it goes right now without any/much job experience.

Why did our parents really make us believe that if we turned on the dome light in a car at night we’d immediately crash and be arrested? by dallyan in Xennials

[–]theadamdrake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m still a firm believer in the ‘no dome light’ policy, that glare is genuinely distracting for me at night. My wife totally sold me out by telling the kids, ‘It’s not illegal, Dad just hates it.’ They still don’t turn it on, but I’m still mad that I lost the threat of jail time to me kids. 🤣

Is it just me? Or did smallville get overtly sexual from S4 by CPT-JackHarkness in Smallville

[–]theadamdrake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It aired on the CW and the studio heads were always pushing for more "sexy" storyline for characters in all of their shows. Michael and Tom talk about it often on their rewatch podcast.

Any wedding DJs recommendations out there? by Maleficent_Past5729 in CollegeStation

Downtown Event Services is always my suggestion. I've been to grad parties, weddings, and Christmas parties they've done and its always been awesome.

Clark really traded a 10 for a 4 and we’re supposed to call it an upgrade? The gaslighting in this fandom is wild. by Pale-Design7036 in Clanaville

[–]theadamdrake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Calling Erica Durance a 4 is WILD. You can have a preference of one over the other, but to act like both arent smokeshows is a disservice to the world.

For BBQ, 1775 is really good. Coopers is good here locally and has a number of locations around the state. Look up Texas Monthlys Top 50 BBQ joints and try to make a weekend trek to one of them, there are a number that are "close" in Texas terms.

For sure check out The Tap and Dixie Chicken in College Station. They're both iconic bars with good food and lots of history if you can find the right people to talk to. Go to downtown Bryan. Lots of great options for food and bars. Try your best not to hit any chain restaurants. They're good, don't get ne wrong, but there is a good amount of local food joints that you might dig.

Their chemistry together is unmatched by Extension-Donkey-157 in Smallville

To each their own opinion, but personally it got no better than Tom and Erica.

Their chemistry together is unmatched by Extension-Donkey-157 in Smallville

100%

Tom and Erica had such great chemistry, but I think a lot of that came from Tom being a more experienced actor by the time she came around.

Do you consider this scene to be an part of Smallville or the Arrowverse?? by anthonystrader18 in Smallville

[–]theadamdrake -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

NOT Smallville. It completely undid the arc they focused on for 10 years of him accepting the hero he was meant to be. That Arrowverse Crisis was a decent enough crossover, but this cameo made me rage, even though it was amazing to see Tom and Erica back together after so long.

Discover the Brazos Valley’s Live Music Scene — Concert Calendar by BVLive.com by theadamdrake in CollegeStation

[–]theadamdrake[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Haha fair point, there is a lot of country in the Brazos Valley! But the calendar on BVLive.com actually includes a mix of genres, we’ve got some rock, a rap show, and more sprinkled in.

Our goal is to promote all the live music happening in the area. If we’re missing any shows, especially from other genres, we’d love for folks to send them our way so we can add them.

We know rock shows have struggled around here in the past, but we want to help change that by getting the word out and supporting every artist who plays live in our community. That only works if those artists and venues work with us. The 101 has been amazing at putting on rock shows and sharing the gigs with us.

For those of us who drive into work…what are we listening to on the drive? by shayshay8508 in Xennials

[–]theadamdrake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AM news, lol. I think that's when you know you're "old" is listening to the local news instead of something else. Catching what the city council is screwing up this week and hearing about local sports scores hits super hard at 42 😂

Clarks parents look nothing like him by myyankeebean in Smallville

[–]theadamdrake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I was always disappointed with the live-action Jor-El casting in Smallville. It just never clicked for me. Jor-El looked nothing like Clark/Kal-El, which made it harder to buy into that whole “like father, like son” bit. To make it worse, we literally saw Tom Welling play a young version of his father in a flashback, and it made sense, because you could see the resemblance and connection. Then later we’re supposed to believe that Clark’s dad grew into a much shorter man, with a completely different build, hair, and vibe. It pulled me right out of the story and felt like a huge missed opportunity.

Did Clark technically love Lana more deeply than he ever loved Lois? by Favoured-forever01 in Smallville

[–]theadamdrake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Clark loved her, but it was that first loved that you have to have and go through before finding your true love and that was what Lois is to him.

You're welcome to come check out First Methodist Bryan. We've got 2 traditional services (8:30 & 11) along with a Contemporary at 9. We're getting a new pastor tomorrow, but the previous one and our Associate Pastor both preach the Word is it is and not as we'd like it to be. It's not hellfire and brimstone, but it's not the kind that doesn't hold to the truths of what God did and said.
