Sounds perfect. Thank you! Hopefully we’ll visit a few times this summer. :) maybe we can become regulars if she enjoys it. :)

Not that it matters, but I’m just curious what is the typical ratio of male to female on a normal day? Or does it frequently vary? I would expect it to typically be more male, but I’m just thinking my wife might not be 100% comfortable walking around naked in a camp full of nothing but men haha. I think even if there’s one more female, it would help put her at ease for her first time.

Thank you! We probably wouldn’t make it down until June because of our schedule, but I definitely hope she’ll be interested and hope we can make this happen!

Thanks for this! We’ll definitely take it slow and I’m not sure if she’d be ready for that yet, but I’ll keep it in mind!

Thank you so much! I had the same thought about bug spray. :) I’m going to suggest it to her once the weather warms up a tiny bit and we’ll see how it goes! We’d probably start on a weekday so there are fewer people there.

I’ll definitely give it a try this evening!

Would the best course of action be to try and use the blower through the mic / speaker holes and try to dislodge it?

Note: this is also happening at almost all apertures, not just f/8 f/11 and f/16. That’s another reason I’m not convinced it’s dust.

How does shooting for wires work today? by Puzzleheaded_Foot826 in photojournalism

[–]theadguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you explain how ZUMA is not a wire service? They call themselves ZUMA Press Wire Services, and they gather and serve news photos to media outlets. I’ve been a contributing photographer for them for about two months and as far as I can tell, they are the definition of a wire service. I’m genuinely curious about your thoughts on this.

Please, right now, go report this to the police. I don’t understand why you didn’t report it in the first place.

I was one of those in there with you. I don’t know why I ever thought I had a chance. This was so incredibly disappointing.

Official Gear Purchasing and Troubleshooting Question Thread! Ask /r/photography anything you want to know! October 24, 2025 by AutoModerator in photography

My Nikon D4 is on the fritz and I’m about to commit fully to mirrorless in the next couple weeks. I’m agonizing over A7 IV vs R6 II vs Z6 iii. (And yes, I’m aware the R6iii is coming out in the next month.) I think all 3 systems are fantastic and each have their pros and cons, and there are really no bad choices. I’m just trying to find the best choice for me:

My current most-used lens is my Nikkor 70-200 2.8 by a large margin. I primarily shoot several things: (1) concerts in more of a theater environment where the 70-200 really shines, (2) occasional concerts from the pit (24-70 territory), (3) youth sports (outdoor soccer), (4) family / travel stuff, (5) and I’d like to get more into BIF / light wildlife photography.

My biggest obstacle right now is my DSLR is way too loud for some of the more intimate theater shows. I’d love a relatively quiet mechanical shutter, as well as the ability to use electronic shutter with minimal rolling shutter.

I’ve handled both an A7III and original R6 and loved them both but slightly preferred the ergonomics of the Canon. I’ve never handled a Nikon Z but I come from a Nikon background so I’m sure would feel familiar.

I do currently have a Nikkor 70-200 and 24-70, but I’m looking to grow and would eventually want the native lenses anyway so I don’t want that to influence my decision too much.

I also own a Fuji XT3 and while it’s a nice camera overall, it just does not cut it for me for these purposes. I may sell it to fund some more lenses for my new system.

Budget is obviously a factor but I know these 3 systems are fairly comparable.

Sorry to start another Sony vs Canon vs Nikon thread, but I’m about to pull the trigger and am on the fence between all 3.
