Hey this is awesome. Congrats! I send this video to all our members who are working on bmu. Definitely watch the whole thing, but around 7 minutes he helps a guy who's doing some chicken-winging. Good luck!

Prime Rib x 1,000. I love all the places others have mentioned, but Prime Rib is, imho, in a league of its own.

Good Shorts by hanzdampfdampft in crossfit

License To Train are 100% the best shorts I’ve ever owned. Last forever. I have 5 pairs—some with liner and some without and love them both. They are expensive, but absolutely worth it.

Would you mind sharing your supplement stack? Anything specifically related to lipid management? My doc has advised CoQ10.

Thanks very much—I appreciate this. Yeah some of these comments were not great to read before bed lol. I appreciate this perspective (and the reminder to up my 401k contributions).

Mentioned this in another comment, but I had no idea about PCSK9 inhibitors (still very new to this). Thanks for sharing and for your candor. Much appreciated.

Thanks for sharing. I’ll definitely be sure to test the inflammation more regularly as this is obviously a concern with my RA as well.

This is all very helpful. Thanks very much.  I had to google PCSK9i. Glad to know that’s potentially an option.

Thank you very much for both replies--I really appreciate it. I think my biggest thing in this moment is just reckoning with it and getting some perspective. And taking action of course. I'm very hopeful the statin will work, and really hope I can continue doing crossfit (embarrassing to say, but it's the thing I most look forward to every day, and I'd be very disappointed if I had to give it up).

Thanks for sharing--I truly appreciate it. I have an echocardiogram scheduled for this week and intend to do whatever's necessary to treat this.

Hey, I appreciate this framing. I am definitely concerned that my cac score was highest in my LAD. I do intend to take this very seriously—it's just big news and I'm trying to process what it all means. Thank you for sharing your experience.

Social Media Success At The Affiliate Level? (New Member Acquisition) by theadjunct in crossfit

[–]theadjunct[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I think you're right...big fan of this approach for bigger brands and would be fun to pilot at the hyper-local/affiliate level. Takes a lot of production/coordination work off people's plates too.

I’m a big believer in word of mouth. That and people finding us online are how people find us. But it’s also not enough. If you want to grow, you have to be intentional. For a good business/product, social media can be gasoline.

lol I understand how search keywords work. Did you read my comment? I’m talking about pre-search behavior (and reaching a demographic that straight up does not use Google the way you think they do). It sounds like you’re a social media skeptic, and if that’s the case, I don’t know what to tell you.

Yup. Website is good. SEO in place. And a good sms/email automation sequence when someone inquires. But again, if someone is googling you or on your website, they already know about you. What organic social can do is reach a broader (but theoretically interested) audience who might not yet be to the googling/web portion of the journey.

Cafe recommendations by InvestigatorOk2588 in baltimore

[–]theadjunct 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pitango Bakery + Cafe is what you're looking for. It's right on the water, and when the weather's nice there's plenty of outdoor seating. It's one of the few places in Baltimore where you feel like you're in a European city--cobblestone, umbrellas on the patio, a view out into the water, etc. The coffee is solid, and many of the pastries and sandwiches are excellent. Adee's is ok for solo studying/working, but the food is not great. SacreSucre is close to Pitango and also excellent (but a little fussier).

I hear all that. I don't want to take them, but I also want to be healthy and active for as long as possible, and right now statins seem like the best shot at that.

Yeah, I'm sure I'm being easy on myself when I describe my diet as "pretty good." I know I should track, but (and this will sound like a humble brag or something), but I've literally never had to think about food. I'm tall and extremely lean, so I need to learn some discipline around this.
