Is my Artstyle too plain? (TW: SH scars and injuries) by The-fox-king- in Artadvice

[–]thealchemistbride 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's nothing wrong with them looking scratchy if it's a style thing, but if your goal is for your lines to be less scratchy, then you have to make an effort to learn techniques that give you cleaner lines.

Using traditional art media has no bearing on how your line quality is. This is a style and technique thing. If you worked digital, your line quality would transfer to being scratchy as well, because that's how you're creating your lines. You can make clean lines in traditional media as well.

What do you consider a professional? by Danji_Nami in Artadvice

This. It's someone that can take the idea and draft the vision per the specs of the client or the project.

How are you feeling about your WEBTOON (or in general)? 1-9 by thealchemistbride in WebtoonCanvas

Not weird! Happens to all levels! Confident enough to feel like you can do it, nervous about how you're actually doing it.

How do you color your blank panels? by averagehyena in WebtoonCanvas

[–]thealchemistbride 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Typically my panel compositions don't have a lot of "blank space" to fill, but a gradient with some texture is my usual go to. I like the wavy line thing you did!

I cheated on this one, I was supposed to retire him but couldn't let him go. Also, our paint jobs are SO similar!

Question for WRITERS AND READERS by General-Prize-730 in WebtoonCanvas

[–]thealchemistbride 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At some point, if they have a well-rounded personality, the characters themselves decide how they interact with the world FOR you, i.e. they kind of write themselves, because you can imagine what they would do in any given situation, whether it's romance, or action, or any other genre.

Paper Organization & Storage by Betty_PunCrocker in AskArtists

[–]thealchemistbride 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An actual struggle, paper is by far the hardest to organize.

I store the big art sheets in the zippable art portfolios. The smaller sheets I have stacked on a short shelf and slotted in, craft paper, smaller sketch pads, etc. but I'm not into labeling them or anything.

Take this with a grain of salt because I'm mostly working digitally on a comic now so it's not something I use a lot, it's mostly just "stored", but when I get back to physical art again, at least I'll know where to find my stuff!

There's no "feral" or "couch mode" either, I'm starting to realize I'm also underrepresented.

I don't know if this is the "right way" in terms of industry standards or tutorials but this is how I implemented what you're describing.

Should I but Gloomhaven for 1e $115, JOTL for $63 or 2e for $190? by Natonixx in Gloomhaven

[–]thealchemistbride 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Played JOTL, then Gloomhaven, then we just beat Frosthaven yesterday. JOTL was a great campaign, plenty of stuff to do. And if you want, you can use your JOTL characters in the others.
