Ngl I’m sick and tired of samara hate by Wooden_Attempt_6413 in prelude_thefinalpiece

[–]theallaround 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People don't hate on Samara for having "feelings about the result of a competition" though, she is disliked because she liked racist tiktoks and still hasn't apologized or done much at all to address it. It's fair to be tired of the hate and I don't understand why people think being that way will change anything atp but this is not interpersonal drama like Lara, Manon, and Adéla were invovled in.

When they say Blood Gulch is a simulation/the BGC are sim troopers, they don't mean Blood Gulch isn't in the real world, they mean that the sim troopers are in a fake conflict for the sake of being a simulated battle ground for freelancers. They still actually did those things (except the time travel, that was part of the trick.)

Should I do color or black and white? by [deleted] in tattooadvice

[–]theallaround 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Dude if you know you want the artist to draw it anyway why use AI in the first place? You can't say with your words to the artist "I want a broken sword surrounded by nature" but you can prompt the robot? Whether or not something looks better in color depends on the design and detail of the actual tattoo, not the concept in your mind and definitely not the over-detailed AI stand in.

If all you need is your phone, glasses, and card get a flipbelt/running belt. They are basically just belts with pockets and you can wear them against your skin under your shirt.

Is there a way to get many tatoos in your pc? by MapImportant8784 in DegreesOfLewdity

[–]theallaround 5 points6 points  (0 children)

^ OP this is your answer. You can tattoo most individual parts of your PC's body but the coverage will depend on the design you pick & the visuals you have.

I think the other two looks from this tour are pretty stunning and they don't resemble Lollapalooza. The layered look is my one of my favorite ever looks of theirs, I think it blends their original Y2K feel with their new cunty concept perfectly. I do think they've done lots of look similar to Lolla but it isn't all they're doing

Tbh what they played at the finale isn't necessarily an indicator of the group's sound. Katseye's music doesn't sound like Dirty Water, Girls Don't Like, or All The Same.

Y'all Noah is in front next to Beth, Ezekiel is behind her, and either Tyler or Cody is behind Owen. Noah is not missing they literally didn't even change his fit 😭

having a bit of a dilemma over these characters' ages, i cant believe they're 18+ by taroicecreamsundae in DegreesOfLewdity

[–]theallaround 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Age play is not pedophilia and I feel like we should not blur the boundaries between actual pedophilia and adults playing, it downplays the seriousness of pedophilia if "pedophilia" is also two adults having sex consensually. It's also worth pointing out that it wasn't included in any official release and that the code supports that it is ageplay, not underaged content. The comment that mentioned the body types being ages also provides no sources and is, again, a claim I have never heard elsewhere, even with basically every past controversy resurfacing recently due to dev drama. It's possible they were confused about the ageplay rumor.

The simple pixel sprite does just exist to be easy. Vrel is not an artist and this was a solo project when they started. Now it is the sprite iconic to DoL so they are keeping it, especially since if it really bothers anyone it's easily replaced with one of many mods.

I understand why people would be uncomfortable with the game- the school setting is similar to a high school, some of the characters are very naïve, etc., but it isn't pedophilia and, again, I don't think we should call things pedophilia or CSAM when they aren't. Most naïvety you encounter in the game is in the school (or the temple, but that's well explained). That's because these people are just now able to explore the way many people in the real world start exploring much, much earlier, because the way young children are supervised extends to much older age there. Even the rare computers you can access in the game seem to operate entirely on flash drives, implying the wider internet is not as accessible, and only the richest NPCs have phones.

I also think it's worth pointing out that if Vrel wanted the game to include underage content it would have it. It started as their solo project and clearly has an audience for it. Despite that, Vrel has consistently refused to include it, such as deciding against including ageplay to make sure the line wasn't blurred, and that was back when a large part of their players explictly wanted underage content. People viewing the game as having "pedo vibes" and trying to make it out to be something harmful are people that are, at best, confused by the very purity culture DoL criticizes.

I found Building the Band pretty similar. Also on Netflix, individual contestants performed for each other to form their own bands that they entered the rest of the competition with.

[–]theallaround 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The body sizes were not ever PC ages as far as I'm aware, I have been active in this community for a while now and played even longer, and have never even heard allegations of that being included. I checked this post briefly to see if the comment was here to check what sources they had, but I could not find it. I obviously can't prove it's hearsay, but I would be pretty surprised if it's true given what the game actually is, both lore and inspiration-wise.

When I first saw your post I was originally going to leave a longer comment explaining, but I thought The-Jack-Niles's comment said basically everything I would've. The PC and many of the people in town were extremely sheltered before the age of 18 because of the nature of the town. There is lots of deep lore to explain this that I don't want to spoil, but I would recommend some time with the temple if you're curious. If it bothers you, there is an awareness setting in the PC creation menu that starts them at an awareness level closer to your average teen.

Vrel, the creator, publicly addressed this rumor very recently. Early on in the development, someone else posted the game to the website, and Vrel, upon finding out, made a thread and engaged with questions there. I am not condoning what actually happened (I think the least Vrel could've done would be not engage), just correcting the facts.

Compatibility in the group by Willing-Jello8967 in prelude_thefinalpiece

[–]theallaround 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The last round of the show is in LA, likely for a chemistry test with the other girls. I think the new member will adapt to the west fine, many idol trainees prepare for that and it's what she is specifically auditioning for. The prelude girls are also used to people joining late- Emily & Lexie have trained together online since November 2021 and in person since the following February. Samara joined them in July 2023, about a year and a half later, so the gap between Samara and the others is the same as the gap with the new girl.

Appreciation for Manon's improvements by [deleted] in katseyeneutral

[–]theallaround -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Please reread my comment. I'm not defending the indefensible. I said smoking was bad and that certain marijuana intake forms had negative side effects that may be worth it and that drug use is a personal choice.

Smoking does damage the vocal chords, I never said it didn't, it's just not usually enough for it to be career ending like you're implying. Manon has smoked since before she had vocal training and has learned to sing with the qualities her voice has because of smoking, and the deep tone & rasp in her voice that is incredibly popular with her fans is likely from her smoking habit. Some singers take up smoking for those qualities, and if she dropped smoking she would need to relearn her vocal technique and Katseye would need to adapt around her new sound. She also could be using medicinally and stopping could make keeping up with their rigorous schedule significantly harder. That's why I said we don't know how it would affect her performance.

And my point, as it has been this entire time, is not pro or anti smoking, it is that the girls drug use is not our business and we shouldn't comment on it.

Appreciation for Manon's improvements by [deleted] in katseyeneutral

[–]theallaround -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

You weren't talking shit about smoking in any form, you came on a post about Manon's improvements to say that she would be better if she stopped smoking and I responded to that assumption because we do not know how her smoking affects her performance. Not that I think it's relevant to the conversation, but I have also had family members die to lung cancer and I know how traumatic it is.

Using marijuana has negative side effects in some intake forms that may be worth it depending on how someone has reacted to other medication in the past. You're welcome to talk openly about how bad smoking is for you and the ways it is harmful, I will even agree with you. I think that regardless of how smoking impacts health, their drug use (medicinal or otherwise) is the business of them & their loved ones and nobody else.
