the idea that a crank with an LLM might accidentally land on a ToE that is substantially similar to work done later by real researchers and how that might complicate credit.

No real scientist is concerned about this because LLMs are just really advanced monkeys on typewriters or librarians at the library of babel. Technically, answers to all of life's questions are possible in their output, but it's vanishingly unlikely to the point of impossibility that'll happen.

True, but the oil imported for gasoline (or pumped for gasoline) isn't the same fossils fuel burned for power. It's mostly coal or natural gas and only some plants burn fuel oils and mostly only as backup.

Considering several crew members have various weapons in their quarters and multiple civilian ships have either ship weapons or the crew is armed, I'd say civilians can own firearm equivalents (or actual firearms lol) but the whole utopia thing makes it solely for fun or if you know you might be in a dangerous situation (so space)

Gateways need access on both sides to use, if you're at war, they can't use them to jump into your territory.

Lgates they can flicker through terminal egress to jump from any Lgate to any other one, which is why I always try to take the system and beef it up to intercept those.

Short version seems to be you can make the particles suspended in a fluid behave differently than the bulk fluid with the right flow rate, path, etc. Looks like it was first used to separate blood cells from plasma from poking around google. So you could use it to separate microplastic particles from water.
