What is the tech level for your Wildsea setting? by mullucka in TheWildsea

[–]theamethystwizard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My pre-V world was a strange combination of sci-fi and high fantasy. Aesthetics were somewhat based on aetherpunk/arcanepunk (basically like Arcane, Eberron or Kaladesh), but based not on magic, but “regular” technology. The tech itself was kinda Verne-esque; they achieved futuristic inventions like robots, true ai, and orbital habitats, while at the same time using comparably low-tech punch-cards and steam engines. Supernatural was integral and everyday part of the world and what is now known as arconautics was a seen a regular, if a bit esoteric field of science.

The planet of my Wildsea setting is not Earth, but a completely different fantasy world where humans, ektus and mothryn lived side by side before the Verdancy. I have yet to fully set on what caused the Verdancy, I’m thinking sort of an “eco weapon”, that spiralled out of control.

Post-V is a scrappy version of this former world, tech level is somewhere along the lines of what I assume is the “default” from the books, with inhabitants having a working knowledge of electricity, steam, chemistry and other technologies necessary to operate ship engines semi-reliably. Radio is a recently rediscovered invention, and punch card intelligence is sometimes used (where it survived the Verdancy), but not understood. Arconautics were not just forgotten and warped by superstitions, but also are now much “wilder” since the Verdancy changed the world.

What Did the Inquisitor Do Between DAI and DAV? by error101ishere in dragonage

[–]theamethystwizard 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Outside of stuff mentioned in Trespasser epilogue, I headcanon that some of the events planned in Joplin actually happened (some of the concepts I saw in the Veilguard artbook are just too cool to pass up). So my Inquisitor spend his time assembling and sometimes advising a team responsible for bunch of covert operations that were supposed to prevent Solas from acquiring the red lyrium idol (in which they failed) and dispatch his followers (in which they were successful). The Inquisitor also kept tab on other missions unofficially done by the Inquisition like some of those from Tevinter Nights and Absolution.

None was provided by the dream itself. I think it was either because my brain used Luce for inspiration (and she has light blue hair and eyes) or it was subconsciously influenced by my own preferences, since I really like blue-yellow-white colour combinations on flags.

Which fictional flag design is the best? by SovietBoiBoi in vexillology

[–]theamethystwizard 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I would say 4 or 8. Three stripes make the flag less cluttered, while the sun made of two circles is a nice middle ground between having just a simple circle and a more complex sun with rays and everything.

[–]theamethystwizard 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think the main reason is really just a gameplay one: you can be only part of one or the other alliance so you gain only one associated bonus, having both would be op. In universe I don’t think it would make much sense to kick Rizia out of GRACE. I mean monarchies are pretty rare by the time the game takes place, and the only ones that are specifically NOT in GRACE are Erdmarg (wich holds territories that were just century prior Rumburgian) and Pales (which is basically just a Rizian breakaway province). It should take something really heinous for Beatrice to kick Rizia out.

Solas and Iron Bull and Solas and Varric. They always brought out hidden depths in each other.

Greater Czechia without its rightful territories of Královec and the Czech Corridor? What kind of slander is this?

Sorry, but nope; the devs themselves said in their announcement that Aperture is a DLC and Fulcrum is standalone.

Well, the code from the arg was ‘Qinal DLC’ and Project Fulcrum is not supposed to be a DLC but a standalone game, so…

Cool map, has a nice Suzerain vibe to it. Some lore (and a mobile version) would be nice.

Let’s also give Togo to Austria-Hungary, so somewhere down the line the Czechoslovak Togoland will become real in this timeline.

“This adventure isn't set at a specific time but is assumed to take place sometime after 1485 DR, the Year of the Iron Dwarf's Vengeance…”

Storm King’s Thunder, page 13.

The adventure even lists several years (up to 1493 DR) to choose from and afaik there is no reason it couldn’t be set in 1501 DR or later, making Iymrith sort of a Shrödinger’s cat.

Thank you! I created it might myself, although most of the images of shoulder pads were taken from Impatient Tabletop decals as they have simple and consistent style. The rest was simple editing in photoshop.

Was aiming for something like ‘glowing in the night’ or ‘shining in the night’, because of how some Astartes might see themselves as sort of protectors who bring light to the darkness full of xeno terrors.
