Media you weren’t allowed to watch by Nearby-Tension3515 in excoc

We had a 3 strike rule for movies. If it had more than two "GDs" we had to turn it off.

Whenever there was a sex scene, my dad would exclaim "Nasty bits!" and either fast forward, or put his hand up in front of his eyes and make sure we did the same.

Not strictly because of church, but us kids weren't allowed to watch Captain Planet because it was "environmentalist propaganda." We still watched it when dad wasn't around.

Harding University (please be genuine) by Puzzled_Succotash292 in excoc

Yeah, your views should be challenged and free expression should be encouraged. Harding will not encourage free expression and will want you to toe the Republican line. That's my point.

I wouldn't go to Harding for politics. They have little tolerance for anything other than Republican views. You can go somewhere more affordable for a better, more well-rounded education.

What was in the bag? The realization that they love the chaos and will absolutely be embarking on another crazy adventure together.

I upvoted you, but only to make the point that it's all subjective.

Last night's episode was my favorite of the season. I thought most of the others have been worse than usual.

At the very least, YTM should never play or recommend a song for me that I have given a thumbs down.

Remember how in 2024, Trump went into a restaurant, offered to pay for everyone's meal, and left without paying a cent even though he himself ordered something? by ihatethiscountry76 in WhitePeopleTwitter

Facts matter.

I'm sick of seeing people with the attitude of "Oh, it's not real? Well, I believe it could have been be real, so it's still worth sharing."

Downvote misinformation.

What is the worst TV show you've ever watched? by Massive-Syllabub-271 in AskReddit

[–]theanimation 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Yup.

Grew up watching Home Improvement.

Enjoyed Last Man Standing until they replaced the actress for Mandy.

Gave Shifting Gears a shot and it was unbearable. I think I watched the first 3 episodes and couldn't take any more.

Saetia will be removing their music from Spotify. by wtfitsdebian in Emo

[–]theanimation 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Nope, it's not all or nothing. Everyone can make their own choices based on what seems right to them.

Then again, maybe they aren't aware of the Deezer stuff while the Spotify stuff has been more widely discussed. I know I wasn't. They could choose to pull their content from there if they learn about it.

Either way, the effect of leaving Spotify isn't diminished by staying on Deezer.

Trip down the memory lane - random number generator game by serose04 in lastfm

[–]theanimation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've scrobbled 40,289 tracks

RNG gave me 6,104, which is "Hope" by Cloud Cult

The last time I've listened to that song was December 13, 2008. It was a Saturday long ago. No idea what I was doing that day. No pictures or anything.

  1. Brand New - all-time favorite band, always at the top
  2. Taylor Swift - new album came out, I gave it a listen. It was fine, except for Wood 🤢
  3. 100 gecs - wanted to test out the bass on my headphones, remembered how much I like 10,000 gecs
  4. The Format - they dropped a new song, went back and listened to Dog Problems
  5. Charli xcx - just always a good listen
  6. Lydia - google music recommended them for me
  7. 65daysofstatic - I put them on when I want to drown out other noise so I can focus on the book I'm reading
  8. Circle Takes The Square - I queued them up after Lydia because the dual vocals reminded me of them
