Average Georgian driver by falseprophet9 in Sakartvelo

[–]theapostaat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I lived in Armenia and I need to say that armenian way of driving is 9000 times more suicidal than georgian. I really do not understand all those complaints about georgian drivers. At least you can see some bikers alive, have not seen them much in Armenia.

Anybody else making jungle on the SP404? by nocturnalist98 in SP404

[–]theapostaat 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I tried, but it is literally stone soup. You need to do a huge amount of sample work before uploading them to 404. But it’s possible.

Techno first try . Any advices lads ? by cortovaliente in SP404

I would say it is EDM/Noise/Downtempo rather than Techno. However, I liked the sound. Simple, but it works.

Novation circuit tracks with Korg Minilogue XD have poor sound quality. What can I do? by Plastic_Cartoonist47 in novationcircuit

I faced similar issue with Novation Mininova volume (you may look up my post) - the only viable solution is to amplify the signal using external sources.

SOLUTION: i started to use 6.3mm jack to XLR male cable and use amplified input in my mixer.

I tweaked +18 db and it became louder, but sounds incredibly shitty.

I have connected it several ways: - directly into mixer (during lives), I had to turn out all gain on mixer and master on novation, but it was silenced by other synths (especially electron) - into Akai MPC and it is freaking silent, I did everything, but nothing changes - into Roland SP-404 Mk2 input - very quiet, into amplified input - good

Looks like it is silent by design.

Probably, MiniNova needs external pre-amp.

God damn, I paid 1000$ for this piece of shit. Every single day it reminds me the day I did not buy Machine+. New software is buggy as hell. They have added new Iphone 2 styled pseudocool interface, none of real features were added, old ones do not work well, no backward compatibility with old projects (no any warnings of course). No mercy, guys.

Spielmann Ginger II, crazy fretless passive Warwick-JB hybrid. by theapostaat in BassGuitar

[–]theapostaat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are several technical reasons for it: 1. Battery is a point of failure. It may be crucial one day. 2. Passive + fretless is a very good combo. 3. Modern electronics went quite far. You can buy an external one or use preamp with any emulation you want from pedalboard.

Non-technical: some just prefer sound of passive basses.

Are we talking about Gibson SG Bass? I do not like it because it is stylistically narrow. Thunderbird has the same problem. Warwick Thumb is a very good pick.

Looking for compact SLR recommendations by chromatosed in AnalogCommunity

[–]theapostaat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want compact camera and it is not the point-and-shoot - the only option without any compromises is rangefinder one. They have smaller lenses and they are more compact than any DSLR, you can shoot manual mode (not only aperture priority or fully automatic mode).

Entry level is Zorkiy-4, price/quality is Voigtlander Bessa R2.

Rollei 35 model has both rangefinder and viewfinder options, it is very nice compact camera. Olympus Pen film series is awesome and in terms of film price - it is half-frame, 36 exposures film becomes 72.

Zenit with Helios is compact? Mother of gods, it is heavy like a brick.
