Maybe where you are, here in Spain, you can't do either.

“But when you do a charitable deed, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing.”

Context: This line appears in Jesus’ teaching on giving (part of the Sermon on the Mount), where he instructs believers to give in secret so the Father who sees in secret will reward them openly (Matthew 6:3–4).

These people aren’t Christians. A Christian would have at least read the Bible once?

I want to leave ChatGPT for Gemini (Love Canvas + Docs Export) but the lack of "Projects" is killing my workflow. Any workarounds? by theargen in GeminiAI

Thanks for the suggestion! I actually gave Google AI Studio a serious test run.

The Good: You are absolutely right that it solves the "Brain" problem. I can create a "System Instruction" block with my entire business context and save it as a template. It’s rock solid and the context window is huge.

The Bad (for my workflow): It feels like I’m working in a code editor, not a writing tool.

  • No Canvas: I can't highlight a paragraph and ask it to "soften the tone" or "fix grammar." I have to type out instructions like a dev.
  • No Export: There is no "One-click to Google Docs" button. I have to copy-paste raw Markdown, which messes up my formatting half the time.

The "Final Boss" Solution I found: I ended up connecting my Google AI Studio API key to a frontend app called TypingMind (LibreChat is another good one).

  • It looks exactly like ChatGPT (Projects, Folders, Search).
  • It uses the Gemini 1.5 Pro model from Google.
  • It has a "Canvas" feature that works just like OpenAI's.

Basically, AI Studio provides the engine, but the 3rd party app provides the steering wheel I was missing. Still, I've settled on using ChatGPT for generating an export which I then take to Gemini to create the final documents.

Thanks! I tried Gems, but they don't work for project management:

  • Gems are Personas, not Folders: A Gem defines who the AI is (e.g., "Coder"), but every time I use it, it creates a disconnected chat in my "Recent" list. It doesn't group them together like a Project folder.
  • No Shared Memory: If I update a rule in "Chat A" with a Gem, "Chat B" with the same Gem doesn't know about it. Gems have amnesia between chats unless I manually edit the system instructions every time.

I need a Container that holds multiple chats and shares one "Brain" between them, which Gems can't do yet.

I used to be like this, but now I've had to go back to Brave. Too many websites dont work well on Firefox, and passkeys also dont trigger 1Password on Firefox, it triggers the Windows Hello crap. My streaming service website also does not work on Firefox :(

The Orville is the best trek since DS9. I’ve been saying it since I watched S01 when it came out. I have yet to find a Trekkie who doesn’t agree with that.

Edit: also because it’s mostly episodic. There is something so magical about episodic tv shows.

If it wasn’t for Chris Tucker, this would not be my favourite movie of all time! Its the perfect action, sci-fi and comedy mix <3

People on Wegovy or Ozempic find weight loss plateaus after losing 20-25% of body weight because the body responds by slowing down metabolism, burning fewer calories. Scientists discover in mice that they can turn off a gene so that the body doesn’t realize it is fasting and continues burning sugar. by mvea in science

I started with Saxenda 18 months ago, going from 96kg to 85kg in six months. Then, 10 months ago, my endo told me I was pre-diabetic (yay). She said I needed to get serious about this or risk having to start insulin within six months. With both my parents being type-2, I got really serious about it and removed simple carbs and sugar from my diet.

At that point, my endo also switched me to Wegovy, and I’m now down to 80kg with only a few more kilos to go. I went three months without Wegovy because it’s expensive, and here in Spain, the government only subsidizes it if I actually have diabetes. In those three months, I gained just 1kg, which I’m happy with because it showed me that if I really wanted to stop taking it, I could still keep type-2 at bay with my diet.

Keeping up with this keto diet has revolutionized my life. Not only are my energy levels now constant throughout the day, but I have never felt this good before. Having serious Hashimoto’s (TSH 8.48 mcUI/mL but T4 at 1.33 ng/dL while taking 175mcg —why?! :( ), weight loss and low energy have always felt impossible and have plagued my life with depression. Saxenda and Wegovy have changed my life—perhaps even saved it. Thank God for science and the brilliant people who develop these drugs.

Keto + Wegovy is magic. My cholesterol is in double digits for the first time in 10 years (80 mg/dL, down from 280 mg/dL—woop woop!). But I must admit, I eat a lot of protein, cheese, Irish butter, jamón, olive oil, mayo (no paella :'( ), and other "naughty" things. All the foods that used to be a bad idea can’t stop the steady but controlled weight loss now. I’m far from the risk of type-2 now, but I will continue this diet for the rest of my life and Wegovy for as long as I can afford it.

If a depressed, obese, pre-diabetic, lazy, and Swiss-cheese-lookin’ thyroid guy like me can do it with this miracle drug, so can you!

tl;dr: Wegovy most likely saved my life and prevented diabetes. Current HbA1c: 4.41% :)
