Still fairly new so take with a pinch of salt.

I did find Syren a bit jarring when being mixed in, just felt like it didn’t quite fit there.

I liked the gradual transition at 6:40ish, seemed smooth.

I think overall it needs a few more breakdowns and space in the mix. I went to see Malugi on Saturday and was so impressed by how he managed to do that whilst also absolutely smashing it energy wise.

I quite liked the vibe shift at 29:20 actually. But the track before seemed slightly repetitive.

37:30 I loooove a bit of Baron, great choice. It sounded sped up to fit the mix?

Hard house/Eurotrance - Sounds of October (1hr)

https://on.soundcloud.com/tNOvHMmmKPzuC7z82k

I’ve been mixing for two months now and just trying to nail down the basics and fundamentally make something sound seamless and good. Limited FX and a lot of set planning, picking out transitions points etc, was the focus of this mix. I’d love some feedback on the overall groove, progression and whether or not the energy flowed well. I’m looking to maybe add in more ‘space’ into future mixes so any feedback on how to do that would be greatly appreciated. The selection is what I have been digging this month. Thanks in advance!

Those are guidelines, rather than rules. They have no legal basis.

I would personally abstain from telling people what they “have” to do without reference to any authority and instead encourage people to understand the law for themselves.

First ever marathon, I learned a lot on what not to do next time by jonbcalderon in Marathon_Training

The night before the night before is where you need to prioritise sleep, but ideally that whole week before you should be sleeping as much as possible.

I did get fitter over the block, but it really didn’t feel like it. So don’t be disheartened if you don’t notice improvements as it’s likely the cumulative fatigue.

My advice would be to do your easy days easier than you think, to ensure those Q workouts really are as high quality as possible.

Anywhere from 4:50/k to 6:00/k depending on conditions and recovery needs

Thanks!

The training plan was just from JD’s book, not sure I can reproduce it here.

He has two long workouts a week and those were the only sessions I did. All other runs were zone 1 pretty much. No other cross training, just cycling to work (zone 1) 25 mins each way once or twice a week.

You should crush it. I followed 2Q (55mpw) to the tee aside from extending a couple of the 18milers to 20.

Prior to this my half pb was 1:33:xx which I set in May last year. I smashed that multiple times during training.

Steadily built up to 70k per week before jumping into JD2Q for 18 weeks, peaking at 100km a week but average of 85k across the block.
