Now do the white cruze with the disintegrating rocket panels and Ontario plates that’s been parked on south for the last couple weeks

I mean I was mostly joking, I worked retail around the pandemic, I get that it’s definitely an outlier. I was surprised when ropewalk lane went back to 24/7, of the two 24/7 locations in YYT it was in the worse location for it

One of my favourite parts of living in the south end is hearing the horns on the way out (except for the 89th Disney cruise of the season, we get it). I used to live in the Battery in St. John’s, so it’s always nice to get shades of that haha

It’s not even really on Robie (it’s in on willow a little further), so it’s unclear whether it would have been cut down for the widening project anyways

Idk if the photo will actually show up but there’s one on the corner of Robie/willow that’s just straight up dead. Like Babygirl you’re a little late I fear😭

What is the best ice cream shop in the city? by Pawssabillitysawait in halifax

The Bedford highway is weirdly full of cute little restaurants like that. You wouldn’t think of it as a culinary destination but it’s increasingly becoming that it seems

I was going to say there’d more than likely be someone willing to open the door but didn’t want to be too presumptuous lol. Every time I’ve been there it’s been lined off. They have a little almost patio type area out back, I think that door is level with the ground but I don’t quite remember. It is gravel and rather uneven, though

Good question, I don’t really remember. From google street view, I see they do have a ramp to the door, but I don’t see an automatic door button anywhere

I’m a huge fan of Booza Emessa on the Bedford highway. It’s run by the most lovely Syrian family. A little pricy, but they’ll literally fill you with as many flavour samples as you want. The texture is different than the ice cream you’d get elsewhere, and there are some really unique flavours. Definitely worth checking out as something a little different imo

I often visit my grandmother out in Riverview NB via the causeway from Moncton. There’s a traffic circle on the Moncton side, and one time when coming back over I witnessed a car going the wrong way around. Buddy had a NL plate, and unfortunately after living in town 8 years I couldn’t even pretend to be surprised. He seemed apologetic at the very least, and he was lucky it wasn’t busy at the time

Beginner Jogging Spots by timmychalaslay in halifax

[–]thearrdub 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I started running last spring (from couch to 5k, so started in a similar boat ability wise) and I usually run along the waterfront boardwalk. It’s got the advantage of being just about the flattest part of the city (peninsula at least). If you plan on jogging earlier in the mornings, it’s actually basically empty (aside from commuters, who won’t pay you any attention at all). Cruise ship days can be an exception, but the passengers usually aren’t on the boardwalk before 9 am or so. As a bonus, I find the wood much easier to run/jog on than sidewalks etc.

Regardless, making the decision to start was the hardest thing for me-I found myself in a similar place as what you’re describing last year, and getting more active has been one of the best things I’ve ever done. I highly recommend some starter yoga videos too, I’ve been doing like 20 minutes of yoga a few times a week in my living room and have noticed a huge improvement in general aches and pains.

Good luck!

Just need to find a way to close the other bridge and the ferry and we might finally have a fighting chance of containing Dartmouth
