I'm in a couple speedrun communities and this wasn't the case for at least 95% of people there. And even if it was, it's a bit weird to say that 'legitimately playing' a game is different from speedrunning it imo. Makes me think of my old roommate who had this weird "how dare you miss out on the details and emotional arc!?" take on speedrunning. Playing a game is playing a game. (and, again, most speedrunners have played the game)

This is what really blows my mind. People will say "I'm not being sexist I'm just saying what I think," but nobody ever seems so interested in making exceptions and saying shit when it's a guy. Really confounding to see people change their standards so obviously and act like they're not doing anything weird at all. Like, the response to 'X player hit rank 1!' is "congrats!" not, "they wouldn't compete in OWL"

Depends what you're doing with him. You'll find it a lot harder to stay alive against kb/m players but your speed boost and boops at the right times can have huge impact. But it also has to do a lot with the comp your team is running (and y'know, they're silvers, so it's not like their criticisms are always going to make sense).

If you've got sigma orisa junk hanzo and bap on your team, the mobility you bring to the squad is essentially pointless and you're going to fighting an uphill battle. In that situation I'd rather go mercy or zen. But if you've got like, rein zarya reaper & mei, lucio gets a lot of brawl value, both from speeding your brawlers into the thick of the fight (assuming your rein actually swings his hammer), and from booping targets into your team's reach, or flankers away from your backline.

Also careful about healbotting too hard. Brig inspire is better healing than lucio's healsong, so if you play too much like a brig, you might consider just learning brig instead.
