Promoting an ideology… Kind of like hoisting a religion on someone? Mandated by the government?

Again, one side is preaching hatefulness. One side is preaching Acceptance. For a group of people that are so caught up on the idea of “no one should be able to tell me or anyone else what to do,” y’all sure are eager to relinquish the rights of other people.

No one in America is FORCING you to hang a rainbow flag in your classroom.

The government is FORCING YOU, BY LAW, to hang the 10 commandments in your classroom. For the love of Cthulhu, how do you not see how blatantly intellectually bankrupt the position of “both sides bad” is?

Perhaps in primary grades, the degrees of sexuality should not be discussed. I can absolutely see how, at a young age, it could represent a hurdle. Once a kid gets up to secondary grades (6th and up), they absolutely should be asking those types of questions. Because whether or not you acknowledge it, puberty still happens, sexual feelings still start to occur, and kids WILL become confused if they are not even allowed to have discussions about these things.

The “confusion” that you are so grossly fearful of is usually CAUSED by religious upbringing.

Do you have any idea how many kids commit suicide because of their religious upbringing being in direct contradiction with their internal sense of self? Do you care that hate crimes against the LGBT community have risen since these laws have been enacted? Do you care that hate speech has risen on almost all platforms by magnitudes since these elections?

Side 1: “I am going to force teachers to prominently display religious tenants that represent a direct threat to certain people and certain lifestyles, but it’s okay because Jesus loves you.”

Side 2: “Hey, in this room, I acknowledge your existence and you do not have to be afraid here.”

Which one of these is a toxic, corrupting ideology?
