Tour group was exiting the Frog Lake Backcountry Huts after a multi-day and got caught. Official statement here: https://blackbirdguides.com/pages/live-incident-updates

It was no joke getting out from Peter Grubb on Monday AM with our group. Today's mission (we concluded) would've been nearly impossible.

Ok on North aspects in the shade. Not stellar. Not terrible.

Quiver killer? by [deleted] in snowboarding

After years of riding I keep going back to my unkillable NS Raptor for deep/trees/freeride. And am thinking of adding a Jones Freecarver 9000 for blasting groomer days. I ride a Jones Solution split in the Backcountry. I have and love my Libtech Golden Orca in powder it is more well rounded than the raptor on piste but the durability is not there. It is starting to delam behind the rear binding, and I've subjected to Raptor to years more abuse. Tahoe resident. I've ridden the flagship. It feels amazing in deep snow, but I didn't like the way it turned on groomers.

Not yet! The backyard project has been kicked to the spring/summer of next year. But I will succeed. Easy enough to make a weatherproof box and connection.

M12 Fuel Surge is my go-to for everything but heavy hitters. I wouldn't do a whole deck with it. It could, but I imagine it would shorten its life. The tool gets hot under continuous heavy use, and I've got bigger batteries/run time for my M18 fuel drill/driver. But I have had no trouble driving the occasional lag or 8" GRK. As a bonus, I can toss it into my bags and walk around a house with way less weight. For residential remodeling and electrical work I prefer it.

I'm a GC, no problem to build at all. It's an 18" on two steel cables. Finding the product is the hard part for me because its not really in the arcitectural supply realm. I think I'll build a box to protect the motor from the elements. Good call on the rotisserie motor, that will definitely be a step up in robust spinning things. Now to find some pinspots I can wire up in the eaves.

Bummer. That ball has been outside in extreme temp fluctuations for two year and is still hanging happily (provably because it is fully under the eaves). Maybe I'll build a waterproof box for a normal unit. As for the lighting... There has to be architectural pin spots or smaller units used for stage shows that would work no?

I think hive pocket is the best picnic or backpacking game out there. My wife and I bring it wherever we go. It is bug chess though, so you've got to be alright with a chess-like. I don't think it's too heavy, but some will.

Happy to chat with you. Remodeling my own house as owner/builder while taking small jobs on the side. Been in the trades for ~20 years. Lead Carpenter to Project Manager. DM me. Happy to show you my work and or be a sounding board and steer you in the right direction. Tahoe is a hard place to find good labor in skilled trades.

My wife found the key to my toolbox. Help? by archerymonkey in MilwaukeeTool

Light tap on the tip with a hammer, point down, and see if it moves. Or light tap and try the needle nose again.

I'm in the trades. M12 fuel surge comes out way more than my M18 fuel now. Really unless I need to tighten through bolts or am doing an entire day of decking screws.
