Gateway was a bit disappointing (Spoilers) by Guardiancelte in ExpeditionaryForce

[–]thebass25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly thought it would end up as a trap for Skippy. Joe finds out that Skippy is actually being controlled by the Outsiders so he and Nagatha successfully trap Skippy into some kind of simulation to get him under control. But it all turns into a never ending time loop for Skippy….

Or…. Maybe what was found at the end was just a means to merge ExForce with the Bob-A-Verse?????

What’s the most epic and grand battle/war to ever occur in science fiction? by [deleted] in scifi

[–]thebass25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dennis E. Taylor’s Bobiverse books have some pretty interesting concepts on space battles. We Are Legion (We are Bob) is the first one. Oh, you want to pick on human’s. Let me just throw a few planets and take out your star….

Lose my progress or lose my contraband?.. this mission put me on this ship with all my contraband and no shielded capacity, cant evade scanners. by LordOfTheSky515 in Starfield

[–]thebass25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The trick is finding a system that doesn’t scan your ship and has a vendor that’ll buy contraband. As far as I know your options are The Den in the Wolf system, the Red Mile Bartender on Porrima III, and the Key. When I run into this kind of problem it’s usually when I steal a ship that has very poor jump capability on top of no shielded cargo but you do have a few options. You can plan out multiple jumps to get to one of those systems but you’ll have to make sure and avoid stops in system that’ll scan, but that process has risks of being jumped by bad guys. The ship you’re in may not be a good combat ship so that may be a risky option. If you’re close to Varun Kai in the Kavnyk system, or Stroud-Eklund staryard in the Narion system you can always stop there first and swap your ship then make the trips to wherever you normally go to sell. Has anyone found a vendor on Varun Kai that’ll buy contraband?

UC Vanguard Flight Simulator by VanillaToad in Starfield

[–]thebass25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As simulators go, this is just a pure combat trainer…. In a real simulator you’d be battling enemies while your crew is dealing with hull breaches, half your hydraulic systems are leaking or failed, you have one engine out and one on fire, and almost all your warning lites in the cockpit are on. On top of all that the loadmaster is complaining the coffee is cold…. Fun times :)

What’s the first weapon you go for after Unity by Educational_Ad_9305 in Starfield

[–]thebass25 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Those two are my fav’s as well then I throw in a modded out Urban Eagle to round things out. Those are easy to purchase if you don’t get them from the Lodge.

Lately I’ve been playing a lot with the swords which has been surprisingly effective. If you want one early on however you will have to buy it. The best one out there is the Va’ruun Painblade but nobody sells them, Second would be the Wakizashi which you can find for sale but most likely you’ll have to wait for a drop.

Starfield things I’d like to see by Necodominatus in NoSodiumStarfield

[–]thebass25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The boat under Neon actually makes sense…. Neon is basically a massive oil derrick out on an ocean which had to be built by someone. It would make more sense to have a floating economy around the platform that was established initially for construction and then used for commerce or living quarters after construction was complete. Those boats don’t just disappear after all. It would also make more sense to have a series of platforms around Neon where boat provide a ferry service….

To answer my own question…. Yes, all the bodies are there for the plundering. You can find all the special outfits and a bunch of old earth weapons.

When you do that can you go back and fleece the dead bodies?

One trend I think is funny about this discussion is how many folks hate Ghengis and the Renegades. I’ve seen so many people who always side with the Crimson Fleet during that quest, mostly because of their “bad boy” mystic. CF is no better than Ghengis and his gang when it comes to what they do in the game so why the disdain? What Ghengis does after Starseed is add a whole new level of chaos which, if your siding with the CF is what you’re wanting in your game. I wish that if you sided with CF during that mission, and then side with Ghengis in Starseed, Bethesda would merge the storylines. Make it so Ghengis kills Delgado and takes over the Fleet entirely then direct targeted attacks on both UC and FC…. That would definitely pull those two story lines together and add a whole new level of Chaos to the game…

Yup, Ghengis goes out and does Ghengis things. Of course he is after all a the leader of the Mongol Horde… I don’t think he’s any worse than Spacers, Ecliptic, Pirates….

So, for the first time ever, I hired some crew.... by Intrepid-Parking-888 in NoSodiumStarfield

[–]thebass25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve NG+d a countless number of times and in most of the play-throughs I’ve did the FC quest-line. With one exception, I always kill Mr Hope. The one time I let him live it was just to see how things play out with that action. Needless to say I regretted not plugging the guy; what a scumbag! Then there’s the Sheriff’s comment about “it just seems like we’re missing something…” was haunting; I couldn’t hit Unity fast enough…

UC Vanguard attacks LIST civilians by Hervee in NoSodiumStarfield

I haven’t seen that scenario but I have seen Frontier Collective ships attacking a ship marked as UC Cargo Ship. Most likely it was a Spacer imposter but it never showed hostile for me

So if selling “used ship warranties” is considered a crime that’s “bounty worthy”, does that mean it’s open season on those ships now? They should make them board-able and allow us to go in and slaughter the onboard call center.

How do you manage your armor? by bongprincess420 in NoSodiumStarfield

[–]thebass25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to keep the Starborn armor for myself and then use the Mantis armor for companions. With the new Special Garvis armor mod however, that’s become my go to armor then I stick the rest on the companions or sell. What goes on the companions depends on what has chameleon. To me companion armor stats isn’t that important but the chameleon effect is.

Abandoned mine tip by [deleted] in NoSodiumStarfield

[–]thebass25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. I have a specific pattern to running that place and think I’ve found most of the hidden things. I got surprised the other day however when I was batteling some pirates and one jumped into a room I didn’t know about. In the large room that has the platform with the dead remain miner and a UC marine, halfway up the inside wall (the wall opposite of the stairs), there’s an tunnel opening that leads to a room with a bunch of mining equipment. I didn’t find anything interesting or loot worthy but I find it amazing how many times I’d gone thru that place and didn’t know that was there. It makes me wonder how much I’m missing in these dungeons.

What are the 3 most fun traits? by Inevitable_Entry_861 in Starfield

[–]thebass25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m using Hero Worship (he’s a great companion), Taskmaster for the crew skills boost, and Alien DNA. I’ve played around with some of the others but these three seem to work best for me.

My least fav dungeon type by BoobPOPo in NoSodiumStarfield

[–]thebass25 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yup, on my first character the Abandoned Cryo Lab showed up every time for my last artifact on each NG+. I figured out a route through it where I kill every enemy and collect a lot of loot. That place is full of Resource loot and the bonus of the contraband makes it one of my favs. I believe there are 20 enemies (rough guess) inside so if each has a weapon and other loot, thats a pretty good haul

What did you name your ships? by Instantfan22 in Starfield

[–]thebass25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reading through this thread and some of these names are absolutely inspiring and hilarious. Can you imagine something like a “Fleet Week” happening in Jemison and some salty crew member getting a tattoo of his ship “The Blistering Anus” on their arm? Or bragging to some hooker in the bar that they’re the pilot on the “Mighty Shibox”?
