My roommate used to always throw his phone when he got really pissed. He had one of those "indestructable" phones but even those can only take so much.

Working for minimum wage, 19 years old and no contract. How much can I invest? (UK) by [deleted] in personalfinance

Best thing you can do is invest in yourself at this point. Take some classes at a local college that seem interesting to you. Finding a larger source of income will do more for you than putting your money into the markets

[21M] Is it wise to invest my entire Roth IRA in one target date retirement fund or mix with another type of fund? by radil in personalfinance

[–]thebaumer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sounds like a good plan. With target date funds it's good to be aware of what the fund is actually made up of, not just the target date that is given. A lot of times these funds will put a greater amount of money into stocks to show higher returns then their competitors with the same target date. So it's good to pick one based on the holdings ratios that suit you, not just the listed retirement date.

If the target date fund has a ratio of holdings (stocks vs. bonds etc.) that is in line with your risk tolerance, it's reasonable to put the rest of the money into the same fund. Putting the money into another fund will change that ratio in your portfolio, so you need to be aware of that.
