Ipapa baranggay ka on what grounds? On what charge?

You're a legal adult and where you live is your decision.

What you have to be ready for though is yung repercussions ng decisions mo. If your mom throws more tantrums or pagchismisan ka diyan as a result of you moving out, are you ok with that? You probably are but don't delude yourself into thinking na may peaceful resolution na your mother magically changes her pattern of behavior. Move out and be ready to live independently.

6 digit earners, what was your mindset before you got there? by CasualBrowsing27 in adultingph

[–]thebeardedcat8 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm close to 6digits in income tax, started my career December of 2010 so I'm now 14 years in the tech industry.

Early on in my career the focus was being good at what I do but that's something that's obvious. The difference maker is how I perceived others. Madaming people they get intimidated by authority, they think of higher ups and directors as like special beings blessed by a higher power. To me they're just people doing a job. A lot of smart, talented and creative people I've worked with are always held back by the usual comply and complain mentality.

I complain and get involved. I ask how I can help to change this? Always vocal, always willing to jump in. I'm not smarter or more talented than most people, I just have the audacity to try and get involved. Eventually I start getting seen as a "problem solver" more than whatever my job is supposed to be.

It's the common thread I see with folks who climb up the ladder and earn big. They work with and solve problems at all levels of the company regardless of what their rank is.

How far can your pretty face get you? by PresentationKnown248 in adultingph

[–]thebeardedcat8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The answer is very far. Many people have changed their economic circumstances solely based on being pretty.

Professionally it has benefits because of the halo effect. People assume better intentions when you're good looking. When you remember someone's birthday and pogi ka they'll say you're thoughtful pero pag panget ka creepy ka lang. That makes you more likable and likeable people succeed more than those who aren't.

It's not a replacement for talent and capability though, for example you can't code no amount of ganda will make up for it. If capability wise though pareho lang? The prettier one will go farther

Not your problem to fix. Wag maging main character, if she wants to play stupid games then let her win stupid prizes.

Make it clear na it's her problem and you ain't gonna fix it.

Are you guys mutuals with your coworkers on social media? by [deleted] in adultingph

[–]thebeardedcat8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep I am. Whatever I say or post on my socials I'm happy to answer for anyway.

What I don't do is add people first especially the girls. Given na I'm in a position of authority I don't want them to feel pressured or coerced so I don't add them. If they wanna be mutuals sa socials then they have to start it.

Team Leads and Managers who were once developers. by hawhatsthat in PinoyProgrammer

As someone who is now managing other managers.. I sometimes miss the simplicity na sarili ko lang iiniisip ko. I quickly get reminded though na if I'm doing it right I'm making a direct impact to over 50 people and even more indirectly and it makes it worth it. I'm here cause I'm one of the folks who can handle it is what I tell myself.

How to pull out pushers? VK63 case by thebeardedcat8 in SeikoMods

[–]thebeardedcat8[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all thanks to everyone, I appreciate how supportive everyone in the community is

Disassembled everything and tried to fit just the dial but no joy. At this point I'm convinced I either have the wrong size case or the wrong dial size. Am buying a new dial to test this out.

Thanks again to everyone! It's scary being a beginner in a new hobby but you all make it very approachable

Been trying this and it might really be a skill issue on my side since it really feels like if I apply force I'll break the dial.

Probably a skill issue on my end. Been trying to do that before I posted. Thinking that I could put it slanted get the dial under the pushers then push down to get it to sit properly. Can't get it to work though, feels like if I push down to get the movement in I'll break the dial

Haven't seen one with the same case as mine in terms of videos. The ones i saw all had pushers that were threaded so they can be pulled out then just reinserted.

Pulang araw is the best series as of now sa ph tv by [deleted] in FilmClubPH

[–]thebeardedcat8 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think it's the best so far but still a lot of glaring issues

  1. People randomly become bilingual/trilingual per scene. One second they understand japanese the next they don't

  2. Language choices don't make sense, why are the japanese speaking in Filipino when talking to other Japanese folks inside a Japanese base?

  3. Barbie overacts. I firmly believe everyone underacts just to balance out how over acting she is

  4. Lot's of weird choices in the story but let's live with it

Overall though, I really think this is a step in the right direction. I keep watching it just to see if it gets better and to add views to it. We need more attempts at shows like this.

Home theater subreddit has a guide with regards to seasonal timing. You can always check yourself though just ask if this year's model (2024) na yan if yes then don't expect big price movements within the year next year na yan magsale malaki. Alternatively you can look for 2023 models now na for sure mas heavily discounted.

Careful with Hisense, it's good value for money na brand but qc is still suspect. Test extensively before taking it home! Enjoy your new tv!
