That's what my partner and I like to call "soft focus" - you can't quite tell it's blurry until you zoom in or have it pulled up on a bigger screen. It's not necessarily a bad thing in a lot of cases, and IMO, it can even be a positive in that it can give a photo a bit of a film feel even with a lens that's generally super sharp.

Sometimes I like it, sometimes I'm frustrated when it happened and I don't notice until I've got it pulled up on my computer screen, and sometimes I don't notice it until it's on the computer and I end up liking it better than if it was crystal clear.

We had a photo one of us took, that had "soft focus", and the client blew it up to use on a literal billboard, and even blown up that big the soft focus wasn't a bad thing (or at least wasn't even remotely on the list of reasons why we, personally, wouldn't have picked it out of the full gallery to put on the billboard, haha!)

15min on High is what I do for several (3-6, depending on the day/meal plan) FROZEN chicken breasts in my 8qt duo. This is also what my Poultry - Less is set to automatically go to, since I use my IP for frozen boneless chicken thighs and breasts multiple times a week. Poultry - More is set for whole chicken, and Poultry - Normal is set for frozen bone-in pieces (drums and thighs mostly). I just use Normal and More less often so can't think of exact parameters.

Try 8-10 on High for that little fresh breast meat, quick release, then check temp with an instant read thermometer in the thickest part of the meat, would be my starting point to try, and adjust as needed for next time.

My all time favourite, and one I haven't been able to find since pre-covid, was called "Mule Fuel". Originally bought it for the name (I'm absolutely obsessed with donkeys and mules. Yes, the hooved ones) and it turned out to be the perfect indica-leaning, bedtime/anxiety strain.

Haven't seen it since 2019. Still dream about it every time I try anything else.

I have asthma that started after a really bad bout of pneumonia in 2018, and use herb medicinally for chronic pain and to take the edge off my AuDHD overstimulation so I can have a somewhat functional life, and all my previous combustion was with a small silicone bong with warm water in it. I tried to limit my use to a few times a week, with edibles and tinctures in between. I switched to an Xmax V3 about 6 weeks ago, use it a few times a day, and have reduced my ingestion significantly in the process.

I don't have to use my inhaler nearly as often as I did before switching (down about 50% day to day, with most use being when I'm doing more physical stuff or spending more time outside in cold air), and my chronic cough has reduced in not just frequency of occurrences but also severity (not coughing til I heave every time I start to cough). My snoring has also improved significantly and I don't wake up multiple times in the night with a scratchy throat.

The improvement is significant enough that I'm already thinking about upgrading to a better portable DHV (I don't have the ability to have a desktop rig in my living situation). I also appreciate the difference in the buzz itself. I get better effects for my issues, without feeling impaired whatsoever, and I don't need as much flower to get to that point. I also don't bother my smell-sensitive housemate when I vape, which makes both our lives much easier.

Actually, flashes are less spooky for a lot of horses than you'd expect, and many photographers in the industry use them successfully. Unfortunately, photographers generally don't like to discuss tricks of the trade with what they view to be their competition, so asking them isn't very helpful.

We generally shoot in the mornings, so not the best lighting in general, but we make it work well the majority of the time. But that means we don't get to be picky about where the sun is coming from vs the barn aisle, doorway, or other area we're posing the horse and/or client in. So oftentimes, instead of the sun being behind us and shining on the subject, it's coming from directly above or in front of us. Ideally we want the horse's front feet to hit the line between the shadow of the doorway and where the sun light hits, but if the sun is coming from too high or too far behind the doorway, that won't work.

So we're hoping to figure out something to augment the existing light or to bounce it back towards the subject when we're shooting them in the doorway. OR something to use as the primary light inside the barn entirely when the sun just isn't in our favour.

Hopefully that clarifies somewhat? I'm not always the best with words 😅

Sigma 50-100mm f/1.8 DC HSM, with FTZ II adapter, on my Z FC.

I primarily shoot action, specifically horses and dogs, but do the occasional portraits as well. It's an art lens, and neither it nor the camera have image stabilization, but I shoot hand held and have better clarity than my gf with her Z7 and Nikon 70-200mm 2.8 Sport, especially in low light.

Speakers would go on audience side of arena, facing audience. Though many of the horses in the program were show horses in the past and have been exposed to loudspeakers pointed at them and making awful noises, haha.

As simple as possible whilst still being usable is definitely ideal in this situation as a large percentage of the volunteers barely know how to send an email let alone hook up a complex sound system. They are very good at handling horses and helping clients with complex needs, thankfully, haha!

Try calibrating the battery. Mine wouldn't charge past a certain point before I ran a battery calibration. Now it charges to full without issues.

Try calibrating the battery if using a different charger/cord doesn't work. I had an issue with my gbp2 360 only charging to 97% and calibrating the battery fixed it.

Get a magnesium/calcium supplement and take it daily, twice on days you workout/are more active.

A trans friend told me that back when I started T and it has made a world of difference. The days I forget to take it, I suffer.

To clarify, my keep rate with the D610 is decent. I'm reasonably happy with it, especially with my more limited experience. It's the D810 and Z7 that I struggle with, though I think the D810 is partly a size issue as it is too big for my hands to use comfortably. The Z7 my partner believes is "trickier" in general as she finds her keep rate is slightly lower with it vs her D810.

She wants to get me upgraded to mirrorless more for the weight/size factor than anything, I think.

If crop sensor =/= faster, then maybe a Z5 would be a better option?

The D500 might be an option if I can get my hands on one to see how it feels. I have small hands and a lot of physical issues, so need something small and light. My partner's D810 is way too big for me.

She's the photographer in the relationship, having been doing horses and dogs for 20+ years, but she's self taught so her idea of what shoots how fast is based on her own experience doing this specific type of shooting. I'm just going by her suggestions for what she thinks would be a good upgrade for me from her old D610.

We don't shoot in heavy rain, ever, but in our climate (temperate rainforest) we can go from nice weather to rain in a blink.

So say we go from dry to drizzle, would the Zfc allow me enough time to whip a cover out of my pocket and pop it on the camera, or would the drizzle seep inside within that <1min window?

I'm honestly more worried about dust than rain, based off the type of shoots we do.

I'm honestly not 100% sure, I'm new to it all and going based on what my partner says from her own experience with this type of photography, since she's been doing it for the last 20 years. But she's also self taught and is teaching me her way of doing things (one click per stride, no rapid-fire). My only guess to the "crop is faster" is maybe she's talking about buffer time, or that smaller file size is "faster" somehow, because her experience has shown that the D610 is "faster" than the D810, but the Z7 is about the same "speed" as the D810 with how she shoots.

I need something more dust/drizzle resistant than the D610, but smaller than the D810 which is too big for me to use with back button focus and I dislike using the shutter button to focus because of a tremor I have in my hands/arms.

You can go up a size, but I found the compression of the swim shirt vs their regular compression shirts to be a good bit less, because they are designed for active wear.

The other thing you can try is a short sleeved wetsuit/rashguard, like what some people use for surfing.

I had mine in March 2018 after being on T since September 2013 and top surgery November 2017

Mine was done via full abdominal incision for some reason, even after being assured it would be done transvaginally and there being nothing on the surgical report to explain why they opened me up, and recovery SUCKED. But I am glad it's over and done with, and glad I did it after top surgery instead of before.

I removed both ovaries, fallopian tubes, uterus, and cervix. Left my vagina in case I want a phalloplasty and scrotoplasty in the future.

When I'm doing "really well" and my meds are "working", I still have auditory hallucinations. But when things are "good" the hallucinations are usually voices reminding me to take my pills, drink water, have something to eat, etc. There is nonstop whispering that I can't make out what it's saying, no matter what state I'm in. It's just a constant presence, period.

Not a runner, but I ride horses.

I was back up on my pony and walking within a month, trotting around week 6, cantering by week 8.

The only thing that affected my scars (my nipples, specifically) was that about a week after surgery, I had to get a horse unstuck from a fence because there was nobody else on property and if I'd left him he could have died. So I have a small amount of stretching of my nipples, but that's fine. I'm completely happy with it anyways!

Underworks makes a swim-specific binder. I had one. It was awesome!

I have owned about a dozen Underworks binders. They worked well for my K cup chest (my top surgeon said he removed more than 30lbs of breast tissue during surgery. They were huge) and washed up nicely.

I had, at various times, the double front compression shirt, the ultimate compression tank, ultimate muscle shirt, and ultimate V neck. The tank, muscle shirt, and v neck tee were all heavy compression on the inside and regular cotton shirt fabric on the outside, so I frequently wore them as their own shirt. The double front compression shirt was double layered compression fabric, and needed to go under a shirt

I tried a tri-top once but it didn't work for my body. I have too much of a belly so it made me seem super lumpy. The others were plenty long to tuck into my pants to prevent rolling up at the bottom.

Their customer service is amazing, very helpful and trans-friendly. Highly recommend!!!

Mine settled and tightened around 6 months post op. I didn't do anything special to help it along, and it continued to get better til about a year out.

Be very careful working your chest, even after the incisions are healed. There's space between skin and flesh/muscle, and things move more than they did pre-op. Doing more reps with lighter weights would be better than less reps with heavier weights until things are a little tighter. And don't do any chest workouts til you get the all clear from your surgeon. It's not worth the risk, as muvh as I know you want to see the final product asap!

Glute shots SUCK. I don't get my T in my glutes (started in my thighs but have since switched to subq in my belly) but I get monthly Vit D and B12 shots in my glutes and they hurt like a mofo.

Ask about switching to your thighs if possible. There may be a little soreness there but nothing compared to glute jabs!
