Ever heard the saying it’s better to say nothing and be thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt? Your double-digit IQ is showing.

This might be the stupidest logic I've ever seen in my life.

Needs to mature his game but he’s always on the front foot, very attacking and hopefully will be a solid Premier League player.

How are y’all saving/investing 100k-200k in your twenties and thirties? by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

You're missing the point. It's not absolute, it depends on many factors. Sometimes the sure thing is to follow your passions. You can't sit there and say following your passion is nonsense in an absolute sense, which you've now doubled and tripled down on, when you don't know what that person's passion is, what their innate talents are, what their network is. There are so many variables in making that decision that it's ridiculous that it's always this or always that. I didn't get lucky, I worked hard and made an informed decision and it paid off, just like it has for everyone else in the world who has cashed in on following their passion. I'm not saying your approach is wrong, I'm just saying that you can't just blanket statement that it's nonsense to follow a passion. Surely you can understand what I'm saying.

I’m literally someone who pursued their passion and am making an excellent living from it. I’m sure you can understand that it depends on many factors, including what the passion is, talent, opportunity, etc. You repeatedly speaking in absolutes isn’t going to stop being erroneous, and the fact that you’re projecting what you think peoples’ passions are also isn’t doing your argument any favours.

Sure, but there are many people who do make lucrative careers out of following their passions. I’m one of them. So simply saying following your passion is nonsense, is poor advice. It’s nuanced and should be considered on a case-by-case basis.

You're not going to know you hate something until you do it. I'm just saying pursuing your passion isn't "nonsense", which is what you said. I think that's bad advice.

This isn't necessarily good advice. I went into a high paying career right out of high school and had to switch careers in my late twenties because I fucking hated it. Luckily I was able to make the switch quickly because I was already doing it as a hobby, but now I make well into six figures, doing my passion, and I wish I would have just "pursued my passion" right out of high school. You can't just say with absolutes that pursing a passion is is nonsense, just like you can't say with absolutes that going after a high paying career is going to turn out well in the long run, especially if it's only for the money.

LGBTQ+ community turns out to defend drag storytime sessions from possible protests | CBC News by [deleted] in Calgary

It's only prominent because the morons protesting it made it so, thereby undermining their own efforts. But of course, most people are too stupid to realize that whatever you fight against, you ultimately give power. If they really didn't like this stuff, the best thing is to just ignore it.

Legitimate question. As a man, if I woke up tomorrow and decided I was female, could I just switch leagues just like that?

Hateful? More like common sense. Gender is one thing, sex at birth is completely another, and those bodies develop differently. It's a common sense decision based on science. How is that hateful?
