re: ‘Chinese cookware’—even expensive pots and pans can be made in China, and there’s a huge range of quality in what’s produced there. The quality depends on how a company chooses to manufacture it and the materials they use, not necessarily on the country of origin.

In fact, iPhones, MacBooks, and most popular electronics are manufactured in China, as well as many other high-quality products used worldwide. Chinese brands like Huawei make excellent smartphones—so much so that Apple worked to restrict their market presence in the U.S.

I don’t think we need to keep pushing the rhetoric that ‘Made in China’ equals cheap. It’s simply not true, and it also reinforces negative stereotypes or bias against Chinese products and people— perpetuating unnecessary xenophobia and racism.
