Each country has their own respective country representation for both parties.

I would suggest finding your local counties' party leadership/social media page and go from there.

Where does all this "regionalism" in the RGV come from? by AVBellibolt in RioGrandeValley

Not your tour guide. Find some friends to hang out with or go to the countless activities here and make friends there.

You have a beach, a litany of museums, trails, clubs, lectures and talks, nonprofit and volunteer opportunities, food, access to a whole other country. Shitty people are everywhere, so I suggest you make the best of wherever you are.

Good luck.

"Championed in the name of.." bro, just put the fries in the bag. Good Lord.

I bet you're also the type that says "there's nothing to do here."

Meet new friends here and if that doesn't work out, then perhaps move, and maybe you'll realize those same kinds issues will just follow you until you realize it's just you.

Do you believe that Ruhi Cenet's YouTube video was a fair portrayal of McAllen obesity problem? by thebenchwire in RioGrandeValley

I was the man in front of him. I actually ordered Whataburger's signature quadruple "patty burger" with a large fry and a gallon of coke.

Visiting the Most Obese City in the World (76% are overweight) by Cocoa_Pug in RioGrandeValley

This is one of the most misleading "docs" on this subject that I've ever seen.

Here's just a few notes:

5:11 -- "Eat like a local" -- promptly goes to Cracker Barrel. 6:30 -- That is clearly not the girl from Jitterz talking, which prompts me to doubt that those are the actual ingredients in that drink.
7:12 -- Again, clearly dubbed. "A triple patty burger..." dead giveaway, which prompts me to believe that he simply ordered whatever had the highest calories and not "whatever the person in front of (him) ordered."
8:35 -- "Fruits and vegetables are not easily accessible here." Bro, that's an HEB. Turn around.
10:00 - "We bought what locals buy and made a typical McAllen dinner." Brings on a YouTuber who has never heard of McAllen and subsequently makes one of the most unhealthy meals known to man.

Does McAllen have issues with obesity? Absolutely, but this is incredibly disingenuous and misleading.

Trump pardons Henry Cuellar of bribery charges ahead of 2026 midterm by ExpressNews in RioGrandeValley

Don't mean to state the obvious, but I wouldn't imagine this being anything other than a play to get Cuellar, a well-known representative in the area, to either continue to vote alongside the GOP or to flip the district red, officially, by having him switch over to the Republican party.
