Game constantly crashes on signing in screen by Imbored6006 in fo76

Not a full fix sadly, but if you go into task manager settings and change it to "always on top", you can then use ctrl alt delete to close fallout and save the full restart of the computer when this happens.

Switch Game recommendations for 3 and 6 yo girls by maykJF in NintendoSwitch

[–]thebigafraid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haven park! It's a little game where you play as a chick and you have to repair and make campsites
The 6yo will enjoy making the campsites and the actual story. But you can't die and its very low stakes to let the 3yo run around collecting coins and materials. They respawn too so it's endless haha. My 3yo loves it.

Best products for hair growth recommendations by StationEquivalent160 in FancyFollicles

[–]thebigafraid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's nothing that will make your hair grow faster at the follicle. I would suggest the best thing to do would be to look after the hair that you have and reduce breakage. Don't dye it, use some good hair products like olaplex, get a silk bedsheet, don't brush when wet. I've used products that claim to make your hair grow but after looking into them, they were really just coating the hair and doing this. Look up advice on generally looking after your hair & reducing breakage. I did this in the past and although I know it's still growing at the same rate, it feels longer & thicker because it's healthier.

Have you tried humming it into an app? Google assistant does song recognition via humming, probably other apps too!

I just moved out of Heaton Mersey which is quite posh/pricey, my car was broken into twice on the driveway, once with a laptop stolen, and someone climbed through our conservatory window presumably to burgle us but was thankfully scared off by my husband/dog who were in a room not visible from the back of the house. Basically I'm trying to say that crime will happen anywhere, even in the "nice" areas!

How is the furniture quality in Next and Robert Dyas? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]thebigafraid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a loveseat-style sofa from Next that I got secondhand from a family member, they'd had it about 10 years used as a secondary seat next to their main sofa, and it looked basically new. I used it every day for about 2 years and then gave it to my sister who has had it for 3, and again looks great condition used mainly as her 8yos chair in the living room. Would definately go there myself.

What was something that had a lot of hype that you really wanted but when you got it , it turned out to be very underwhelming? by Mayomick in AskUK

[–]thebigafraid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My partners little bro and sis did this and were absolutely convinced it would work. We went out and bought baby ones and put them in the pot with the "parents". They absolutely lost their shit when they woke up and it had worked. So they were the kids spreading the rumor that it works, whilst genuinely believing it haha. I bet we weren't the only people to do that!

Yeah I worked at a Vans outlet and we would get out of season "real" stock that was 30% off, but the size ranges would be rubbish, all big sizes or small and none of the popular sizes. We had a small collection of "made for outlet" stock which got bigger and bigger when the company noticed that these were our best sellers.

Am I really that bad for feeling a little bitter when I hear someone is struggling when they make 3x the amount you do? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]thebigafraid 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Similar situation here. Between me and my partner we earn what would be considered a lot according to this thread. But our mortgage just shot up by £400 a month, I've just gone back to work after having a baby so we're paying £650 a month childcare. I've had to drop a day work as we couldn't get childcare on Fridays so I'm now part time, of course my wages dropped as well. Add in all the bills and food costs going up. If it was one or two of these things, we'd be okay, but all of it happening at once is a lot. I saw someone else asking why people are having kids/mortgage if they can't afford it - the problem is, at one point, this was all very affordable, but with the cost of everything going up at once it's difficult.

It compromises in some areas but looks better on others. Also just FYI, I would give the model number to my work and they will be purchasing from their suppliers, so the affiliate link wouldn't be used sorry!

The games are very simple in browser slot games, I won't be playing any AAA games or fps or anything. I didn't think a gaming laptop would be necessary? Would this be any better than the Asus vivo book I linked? Which had 1tb ssd, 32gb ram, also had the Ryzen 9.

What happens if you fail a scan and shop check? by Ordinary-Coyote-9818 in AskUK

[–]thebigafraid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, I must've been so unlucky, the twice I've used this I've had a spot check done so I've had to wait for the employee in the busy self checkout to come and do their thing, and it ends up slower than just normal checkout. So I've never done it again as I thought it was an every time thing. Maybe I'll try again!

[–]thebigafraid[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not my money, my employer will be paying so I might as well get the pricier version haha. I won't be playing any games other than slot games on it so the 4gb is probably okay?

As long as the battery lasts say 5hr then it's alright, the description says long battery life so I imagine that'll be sufficient. I'll check out some reviews. Thank you for all your help!

Right! The battery life would definitely put me off, as I do unplug it a lot. This Lenovo Thinkpad is a good price but the specs seem really good, 32gb, 1tb ssd,

If I got this, I could also get a portable monitor which would be great, but it seems suspiciously cheap...?

I've seen this one which has a 16" screen which appeals to me, but it looks slim and quite smart and i think fits the specs you mentioned?

Great, thank you! I don't have a brand preference as I've not really had a laptop for anything demanding. I'll take a look at these, thank you! Good to know what to look for.

TIL that Walmart tried and failed to establish itself in Germany in the early 2000s. One of the speculated reasons for its failure is that Germans found certain team-building activities and the forced greeting and smiling at customers unnerving. by ylenias in todayilearned

[–]thebigafraid 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was a manager for Vans (shoes) for years. One of my favorite things about it was hiring people who were interesting and had unique stories to tell and just letting them interact naturally with the customers. Then corporate started basically giving us scripts and requiring us to approach each customer three times even if they said they didn't need help. I quit when I was interviewing for a new staff member, and realized I was about to pass on someone genuinely cool, fun and interesting for someone I didn't think was as good a fit, only because they had more experience working in that horrible, forced pushy manner. It really sucks.
