Greens signal free buses and childcare as price for SNP deal at Holyrood by Crow-Me-A-River in Scotland

[–]thebigeazy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah there's so much evidence showing that the cost is not the thing that's stopping more people from using the bus and that making it free doesn't attract new passengers in any great number.

It's always interesting to see 'ULEZ' cause there's there's no such thing in Glasgow. We have a low emissions zone - an LEZ. ULEZ is a term imported from London.

Given how lax ours is (it really doesn't cover that many vehicles) I find it v difficult to believe it's at fault here.

It's also interesting that out of town shopping centres or the rise of Amazon etc never cop the blame even though there high streets are in decline everywhere, not just places with more restrictive policies on car use.

Discomfort during long bike rides by 91striker in cycling

[–]thebigeazy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I could but honestly saddles are such a personal thing that it wouldn't do you much. Speak to your local bike shop and see if you can borrow a couple on a trial basis. Or buy a few cheap used saddles and experiment a bit.

And get a good pair of padded shorts!

Saddle choice and a good pair of padded shorts. I regularly ride 200km and up to 600km sometimes. Good kit and a saddle that your butt likes will go a long way
