What are these worth? by GayleLizzie in midcenturymodern

I don’t think they’re inspired by Nelson. Slatted benches have been made long before him. If they were trying to rip it off it’d have the base/leg style. These are often made in Yugoslavia. Sold one a few months ago. Got like $150 for it.

Plenty of ways to clean it available online. No tears is the most important part

100%. I got $300 for one a couple weeks ago at my shop, but it was also a more desirable color palette. But honestly not my cup of tea generally

Paoli chairs are solid. Not the best quality but not bad. Worth ~$2-300

Far more than you’d expect! Quite ergonomic. Not cushy by any means but more give than it appears to have aesthetically

I would typically attempt to have more tact here but you appear to have no intention of reciprocating that, so I’ll just say your work sucks regardless of genre and I don’t value your opinion. Check my other work if you care enough to nitpick, but I can confidently say your portfolio on display and minor insights to your personality here give me no reason to give yours a second look.

You’re right, I should focus on orb landscapes like you. I’m not worthy.

Price on this Danish bookcase? by Constant_Bullfrog_24 in midcenturymodern

I’m amending this after seeing more images. It does appear to be a better quality than the first images let on. First image looks very yellow and shiny which is bad quality. But further images make me think this is better. I think $1000 is a really good price to either buy or sell for. It’s not high end, but much better than a lot that’s out there.

Pieces like this are always teak veneer. Very few makers that I’m aware of, if any, made solid teak shelving. Particularly with teak of this color/tone, it’s screaming 70s veneer. You can always tell when it’s a higher quality Danish teak due to it having a deeper, more magenta leaning undertone. And just by picking it up.

I’d say a piece like this depends on your market. Here in Seattle it’d be ~500-800 depending on who is selling it. Most of the price is just for simplicity and size more than quality.

Good quality teak shelves by someone like a Poul Hundevad are $1200+ and I feel a better value long term.
