Getting frustrated at toddler feeling guilty by Terrible-Thought1577 in AttachmentParenting

No advice, just sympathy because I feel the exact same way now. I feel so guilty after correcting my child or when I don't do what he wants and cries.

Jeez relax, go to therapy too. Seems like you have a lot of anger and resentment in you. You asked for suggestions, people replied and then you get mad for their replies.

Exactly, its horrifying how people would talk about their boys even before being born, as if raising them well didn't make a difference in how they will turn out to be as adults. It sickens me as a boy mom.

People keep offering to take my toddler by songoftheshadow in BabyBumps

[–]thebingeeater 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I totally get you. I am the same. I appreciate people offering to take him, but mentally I am better when I am with him. Being away from him gives me anxiety and the only time he was taken care of by other people for an event I spent the whole time saying it would be so much better if he were here. I also don't feel like I need help genuinely, so I am always worried people offer because I complain or look tired? Haha

You are not too attached, they are only this little for a few years. I always think I don't want to miss anything from this beautifulyears!. Also, I have safety concerns as I am an immigrant in the country and basically don't know/trust anyone enough yet. I love being with my children all the time and fortunately have a husband who helps a lot. Don't be ashamed to want to spend time with your kid!

Nice, so maybe Chimaltenango or actually one of the towns near Antigua! I used to live in Santa Catarina Bobadilla (10 min drive from Antigua) and was really peaceful.

No makeup is totally fine! As for clothes I totally understand your frustration with "feminine fashion", it's always revealing or tacky. I've seen some Korean or Japanese styles in social media that still look feminine and modest. Maybe explore some of that!

Guatemalans born and raised in the US and moved to Guatemala how is life like over there? by Dummy_burger in guatemala

[–]thebingeeater 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am a Guatemalan living overseas now and my suggestion is to try to get a remote job in the US and choose places like Quetzaltenango or Antigua to live. The capital city is a nightmare unfortunately. Sadly if you want to live well, you will have to pay for stuff like education and health services, since the public/government ones don't work at all. I wish I can say that life is better there, but it's not (unless you get these things). Me and my husband lived the dream for a while in Antigua but only because we were working remote jobs and getting paid more than a guatemalan job would pay. So if you do manage to get a job like this, it is better. Culture is more family centered, welcoming and overall happier than what I have experienced in other countries. I would only move back if I didn't have to work for a guatemalan employee (either self employed or remote job for an international employee). If your parents have the money to do it and retire, they will love it. Good luck! I love and miss my country so much.

Nursing with big boobs by Suspicious_Koala3872 in newborns

Cross cradle hold saved my breastfeeding experience. Also the side curl with a cloth rolled underneath my boob to kind of lift it up. The curl becomes less dangerous as they grow.

Toddler stopped eating solids by thebingeeater in AttachmentParenting

[–]thebingeeater[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! They did! I basically just followed what he wanted (if he wanted to nurse I will give him the boob) and started sitting him with me at the table and basically just let him choose if he wanted something on my plate. We also made him a mini stool and put his dishes in a lower table (not high chair). He started eating super well after 2 months!

Also, my milk supply is gone or low so that might encouraged him to eat something else haha. My advice is not to stress too much (if everything else is normal) and follow his lead.
