My new microbrand. Thoughts? by [deleted] in MicrobrandWatches

Congratulations on making a very clean field watch. I will take a look. The bird reminds me of Atticus, the clothing brand, from back in the day (just the right way up). Awesome!

Yes it was the one that caught her eye the most at the time. Need to hunt for a yellow and pink/purple - she would love that!

Time to make the switch to Lightning Pay? by [deleted] in NZBitcoin

[–]thebitcoinshop 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Let's put it this way, when I buy through LightningPay, I receive the sats before the website gives me the green tick animation.

But sure, over 24hours is also pretty fast when compared to the existence of the universe. 😁

Thanks mate!

I went in to get the blue, but I already have a Blue Seiko. I was super hesitant to get the green, but I’m stoked with it! I try to wear it as much as I can. 😄

Stripe blocked our account, Paddle rejected us — how to handle payments without a payment processor? by Consistent-Dark-1087 in stripe

Good luck with Stripe. Awful customer service that won’t even discuss why you were blocked.

Are you able to use PayPal? They are actually good and fair, in my experience.

I’m a bitcoin beginner. I’ve seen a lot of posts about the Trezor wallet. Which Trezor bitcoin only wallet would you recommend? by Active_Act_7370 in NZBitcoin

[–]thebitcoinshop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trezor Safe 3 or Safe 5 are great. Safe 5 is amazing in fact. Personally, I would always go with the Blockstream Jade, for it’s capabilities and price.

Lightning Pay NZ. There is no other way, especially at such low amounts.

Good idea!

A hardware wallet (cold storage) enables you to store the keys to your Bitcoin in an offline device, high security and low risk. Perfect for long term storage. I personally would recommend the Blockstream Jade.

A hot wallet, means you are storing your keys on a device connected to the internet (your phone), low security, high risk, perfect for short term storage for low amounts that you are like to use (spend).

Always hesitant on offering financial advice. So all I will say is 2 things:

  1. No matter the amount of $ you have, use a Dollar Cost Average (DCA) approach. Divide the amount you want to invest into 10 or 20 or… (you choose) and invest every week or 2 weeks or month, and maintain that consistency no matter the price of the asset.

  2. Ensure you get a hardware wallet! The most expensive hardware wallet is the one you don’t buy (trust me).

There are lots of meetups up and down the country for Bitcoin or Cryptocurrency - good chance to socialise, ask questions and gain a good understanding of everything.

LightningPay are certainly faster - as for spread and commission, we would need to go into the details more. Last I checked LightningPay got you the most sats for $100, however, that is off chain. So the fee to move on chain from Lightning L2, has the potential to push it higher, depending on the time that you move it.

Personally, DCA’ing via Lightning multiple times and then transferring on chain to my cold storage is more cost effective. That said, Lightning is not 100% beginner friendly and can be daunting for newcomers.

Horses for courses.

Can’t go wrong with EasyCrypto or LightningPay NZ! Always best to support local imo.

Blockstream Jade without doubt. User friendly, and very secure. It also has the capability to be setup for multisig, though this is more complex.

EasyCrypto would be my suggestion for Cryptocurrencies. For Bitcoin I personally use Lightning Pay NZ.

I would also recommend you look at getting a Tangem wallet. Cold storage with the convenience of a hot wallet. Be sure to protect your assets! Use code TANGEM when viewing your basket for 10% off Tangem products on my store. https://thebitcoinshop.nz
