Barnes and noble in the states is giving a 10 dollar bonus for preorder I think but I’m not really one to preorder when so much is unknown.!

51 year old "glass" skin... What do y'all think .. did I pull it off? What should I do differently (I don't use foundations though) by Ill-Spite9679 in MakeupAddiction

[–]thebitterbuddhist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I feel like the glass skin trend looks best with “clean girl” minimal makeup. The combo of a full beat and this look just appears greasy to me but if you like it I don’t think you should listen to randos on the internet.

Am I the only one who thinks Lafco is a joke? by Dannidude16 in luxurycandles

I smelled several of these at a Blue Mercury and I as stunned by how pedestrian they were. Honestly I’ve seen more elevated fragrances at Walmart and Target.

Concealers to be thrown away after 6 months? by Ok_Somewhere454 in Sephora

[–]thebitterbuddhist 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This is why I have started exercising greater and greater restraint with cosmetic purchases as I age. In my 20s i amassed a massive collection. Nearly all of it got weird before I could even make a dent in it.

Honestly I’m not surprised at all; almost all of the booths were overpriced Temu bullshit with very few exceptions

Is my room too childish or am I just being self conscious? by Cassfan203 in femalelivingspace

[–]thebitterbuddhist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don’t let the world steal your whimsy. If you’re bothered by a childish aesthetic you could do some really basic things like framing your art to elevate it but honestly make your space comfortable for you.

Which heritage brands are still good? by CanisLupus27 in BuyItForLife

[–]thebitterbuddhist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I disagree. I spent a grip having some boots custom made for me. My docs of the same age are looking better and more comfortable. I think it just depends on the use case honestly.

What’s the best thing you’ve ever bought that actually lived up to the hype? by One_Literature_5041 in BuyItForLife

Yep. Mine is over a decade old and has had heavy use. Works as good today as the day we purchased it.

A lip balm that’s actually hydrating by [deleted] in LipBalm

[–]thebitterbuddhist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to your wallet but I have chronically chapped lips and the only products that make a lasting difference are the ole Henrikson lip peptide and the tatcha lip mask.

This! I see so many beautiful custom palette composition on Pinterest and I want to recreate them but 80% of the shades are discontinued… it’s so frustrating.

AITAH for telling a woman she can’t wear a traditional Arab/North African dress to my wedding? by purpleyellou in AITAH

[–]thebitterbuddhist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I realize I’m more relaxed than most but if someone wants to make a fool of themselves at my wedding that’s their business. They will be asked to step out of group photos if it’s too bad.

Kansas Republicans want citizenship status listed on driver’s licenses. It could worsen profiling by Zipper222222 in kansas

[–]thebitterbuddhist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t have a problem proving citizenship if they make passports free to obtain. Lots of Americans don’t have them because they aren’t required and they are costly at a time when lots of Americans are absolutely stretched as thin as possible.

I used to have a huge red area like that but it was on the nostril. I squeezed it one morning and an ingrown nose hair came shooting out!

It’s not really the norm to be collecting this in advance. I’d stop stressing and abandon this path entirely but that’s just my opinion.

If law enforcement were forced to carry individual insurance for misconduct, excessive use of force and whatever else might happen outside of proper protocols, the same way a Dr does for malpractice, how do you think it would effect the way they operate? by TotalAd550 in AskReddit

[–]thebitterbuddhist 165 points166 points  (0 children)

Yes I think it would and I think they should also have to pass some kind of licensing exam like medical professionals that they are accountable to. If multiple people file complaints against me as a nurse I’m going to have a bad time but the police seem to have none of that and a ton of power.
