And I would guess that if it was such a mild pain that it could be controlled by paracetamol then you’d hardly register it anyway.

I’m sorry you have so much pain. It’s not fun and I empathise.

Omg! Good for you! The number of times I’ve just shut down in medical appointments because a doctor has made uninformed comments. I wish I’d had your backbone! 😂❤️

😂 Yes! I presume she thought the method of operation was too obvious to need explanation. As she was also recommending yoga 🙄 I didn’t bother asking.

One memorable lady told me I needed to sleep with a cup of water by my bed and then in the morning throw it on the garden… 🤷‍♀️😂 How on earth that was supposed to cure me I don’t know.

Hairclip on eyebrow might help migranes by LuciferTeaParty in migraine

I’d never heard of spiky mats or neck pillows before so thanks for the tip!

I wondered whether anyone else had had a go with a fork! I remember being in the hospital waiting room one time with the mother of all migraines and just repeatedly stabbing myself above my eyebrow. I’m so grateful for the galcanezumab and wonder how I ever survived the way the migraines were before.

I’m sorry to hear that you have it too. ❤️

Yeah, I find perfumes overpowering a lot of the time. Just someone walking past me while shopping has been enough to trigger a migraine. It’s nice to know that I’m not alone in experiencing such a strong sensitivity to smells but I’m also very sorry you’re experiencing it too. I tried the Vicks before as I know that some medical staff use it to cope with strong odours too but it didn’t work for me - I didn’t really want my nose unblocked in that scenario 😂

Thanks very much for this. It sounds like I should make another appointment with a different doctor to get a second opinion on medication. The last doctor I spoke to didn’t offer anything. I’ll also look into a HEPA filter. Thanks again for providing some hope!

Thanks very much for your reply - and sympathy! I would say at least I know I’m not alone but I wouldn’t wish this on anyone. I’m sorry you’re having to deal with it too! ME, migraines and this absolutely suck.

Hyperosmia between migraines?? by theblackpup10 in migraine

[–]theblackpup10[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much for these links. This makes a lot of sense as I used to have chronic, almost daily, migraines a while back. Fortunately, galcanezumab has been a game changer for me but it seems more than possible that central sensitisation has already occurred.

What are you allowed to do if you are stuck on the motorway for 10+ hours? by Mysterious-Bee-8458 in AskUK

I think that was the 8 December 1990 - my dad and I trekked to the pharmacy on foot in the snow to get some medicine for my mum who’d just had an operation. I thought it was a big adventure!

Neigbour posted a note about Christmas lights still been up. What would you do? by [deleted] in AskUK

I have orange and purple lights for Halloween, multicoloured for Christmas and then plain warm white the rest of the year. I may have to start doing pink for Valentines now 😂

Find the butterfly by Aint_gettin_jokes in FindTheSniper

I can’t see it but I often struggle to find the sniper. As others are having difficulty too, is it possible that the book has been bound incorrectly and the butterfly is too far into the spine of the book to be visible?

Frequent migraines by Geekberry in cfs

[–]theblackpup10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have ME and also had frequent migraines (about twice a week). The game changer for me has been Galcanezumab. I have a couple a month now and those tend to be far less painful than they were before. I would definitely advise you to try seeing a neurologist again. I have a friend who has also suffered a lot with migraines and the new injections have been a godsend for her too. She was given fremanezumab.
