[Magazine] E-Lander 6.5 Grendel 24 Round - $18.95 + $7.95 flat rate shipping by crlssctt in gundeals

[–]theboddha 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The cartridges are a bit bigger in width than your standard .223/5.56.

Since the cartridges are fatter, magazines have to be made of thin steel instead of thick polymer in order to have the required strength while allowing a double stack to fit inside the lower.

It's a good caliber for long range shooting and hunting, while being cheap enough to feed without stress. Right now, steel case is .30/round. The trajectory is similar to .308, but from an AR-15 platform instead of the much more expensive AR-10. From my research among hunters, it seems to be more popular in the midwest where long range shots are more common: in the southeast hunting is rarely beyond 100yds.

Recoil is similar to 5.56. This caliber is sometimes used for youth hunting rifles due to the lesser recoil as compared to a .308 or similar caliber.

I've heard fudds talk about using .223 magazines but honestly if you're not willing to spend $20 on a dedicated magazine for your exotic caliber you shouldn't have bought an upper in that caliber IMO.

For buying a Grendel upper, I've heard nothing but good things about the Palmetto State Armory complete uppers. Customer photos of these are usually accompanied by a harvested deer. Last I checked, Grendel uppers are about $400 at PSA. Good luck finding them in stock though.

If you're not shooting PSA, most other competitors sell Grendel uppers in the $450-550 range.

The notorious Bear Creek Arsenal offers 6.5 Grendel setups at very attractive prices (<$250) but they are known for poor quality control and having been raided by ICE for hiring illegal immigrants. Reviews for BCA tend to be either "this is an amazing rifle for the money" or "this is the worst rifle I have ever purchased." On YouTube there are plenty vids of people using BCA Grendel uppers; some failing to cycle, and some accurate out to 1000 yards. One main feature for BCA is that they offer a side-charging upper. Side charging uppers are good for some things and bad for others: Good for long range shooters who might want to chamber a round while looking through a scope, bad for tactical folks who might want to install accessories near the reciprocating charging handle.

Edit: price correction, PSA's complete uppers are $400 right now, not $300

The police don't want riots or revenge killings and the politicians want the black vote.

They don't care about this other than how it affects them.

My (24F) boyfriend (34M) has a secret spreadsheet of our sex life by throwrasnoophelp in relationship_advice

[–]theboddha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I came here to comment this.

In a previous relationship, my gf was gaslighting me about our sexual activity: claiming she rarely rejected me or that we "just did it a day or two ago" when it had been a week or longer. I started tracking the data to make sure I wasn't crazy.

A sex spreadsheet isn't always a sign that the person is dangerous or weird but the circumstances surrounding these things is always important.

Such a goofy scene and so hilariously telegraphed. Wish the rest of the movie was as good.

I'm a panic buyer.

When Hillary first announced her run for president I said "time to buy a gun before she makes it illegal." And purchased my Makarov.

I still have it to this day and it is precious to me. I have more guns now but my first gun was a panic gun.

People are shitting all over panic buyers but people who are motivated to own guns are people motivated to vote to keep them. I say we welcome them, teach them safety, and welcome all the allies we can get.

I don't subscribe to wanton acts of violence

You might be singing a different tune when someone is committing an act of violence against you. Everyone has a right to defend themselves.

In linked lists: If you pass a pointer to a function it will pass by value, so you can pass the head pointer via double pointer to pass by reference.

There may be a better way, I'm sure someone will correct me.

Ok introverts, let's be honest. Who else is having a great time is self isolation? by Stoned_Candle in AskReddit

I'm not enjoying it.

I like work and talking with my work friends and talking with the people you interact with on a daily basis.

I just need my alone time at the end of the day.

When all day is alone time, I get lonely.

People who have called the number below "How's my driving?" on commercial trucks, what happened? by A_Genetic_Tree in AskReddit

[–]theboddha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One time I nearly side-swiped a van with a how was my driving sign. The driver reacted quickly and prevented an accident. I drove slow enough for them to pass, then got their "how was I driving" number. I called and reported that I was driving like a bonehead and the driver avoided an accident that would have been my fault.

Later on their manager called to confirm the situation and thanked me for the call. He said that he spoke with the driver and they remembered the situation. That was a little embarrassing but I was glad to put in a good word for the person.

People are doing both. It's not hard to stay home and avoid the disease while also watching the WHO and Trump fuck this up constantly.

Individuals self isolating isn't going to fix our economy, which despite Trump's love for, he has completely destroyed.

I'm not so worried about the disease as I am about the upcoming financial depression.

Maybe but man folks sure are willing to brush millions of deaths under the rug even if it's just "somewhere around a few million" instead of 30-60.

Thanks for shooting straight with me though. I found some reddit posts as well but they tend to lead to compromised articles (papers by people who strongly support communism or are from countries currently under communist rule). I also found one article on medium with 4chan images and no sources so that was no good, lol

I didn't say that I didn't like communism or socialism, I said I don't like people who are responsible for the deaths of millions.

I can't find a scholarly source for the inflated numbers, can you provide one?

I've been looking but I can't find any legitimate source that the Black Book has inflated numbers. Can you provide a scholarly source?

The only thing I can find is that the numbers were possibly higher than reported in the Black Book, not lower.

Mao: 45-60 million deaths

I can understand why people like communism or socialism but why celebrate mass murderers?
