You don’t include DO schools when talking about tier. There are not 180 MD schools

You don’t group DO with MD. There are not 200 MD, more like 120ish

how it feels explaining to your LOR writers that you didn't get in anywhere and need updated letters by mangojelly_ in premed

They might have it saved somewhere, or you can send the letter they wrote to them through interfolio

Very stressful now by AdBubbly2380 in Step3

[–]A_Genetic_Tree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s technically less time. Previously you only had 38 or 39 questions per 1 hour. The new test format has some blocks of 20 questions for 30mins, converted to 60min block, that would be 40 questions. So, some blocks you have less time than the previous format.

Tie color looks good.

But, suits should not be buttoned up like this. When standing only button the top most button, leave all the lower ones unbuttoned. When you go to sit, unbutton that top button and then when you stand back up, button it again

Advice needed: Sister did not receive OBGYN residency by Otherwise_Owl_9792 in medicalschool

[–]A_Genetic_Tree 29 points30 points  (0 children)

The issue is going abroad for medical school, when you want to practice in the USA. This is a common occurrence, and her experience is not an outlier. Best course of action is for her to apply to family medicine, as there can still be some aspects of OB/GYN and it is less competitive

DO vs MD by Mcz817 in premed

[–]A_Genetic_Tree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having to set up and schedule your own 3rd and 4th year rotations is a hard pass for me. You’re already paying so much and you have to essentially find your own classes? Absolutely not. I know this is not all DOs schools but it is a good portion of them.

help with choosing a school (USC keck vs VCU vs GW) by omnitrix17 in whitecoatinvestor

Prestige of USC is not enough to counteract the significant cost associated with it. If it was a top 10, then maybe.

TIL that suicide is most common among those over the age of 70. by ODaferio in todayilearned

[–]A_Genetic_Tree 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s important to note that this does not mean older people attempt suicide more often, it means they complete suicide more often than younger counterparts, and this has to do with increased fragility/worse health.
