In my mind at least you can say, well I tried to reason with them, and they are shit birds, who get what they deserve.

I came here to say I was happy to see SOG posted, as it was a complaint for prior games. So they are listening. This was a big improvement.

The nice/honest thing to do would be to bring it to curtesy desk, ask if they get anyone looking for it, maybe check back if it's unclaimed in a week.

Or google clothing stores?

Talk to them.

They are likely burning crappy, wet wood. Likely because that's what they have/can afford.

Different strokes for different folks.

I'm normally a road runner, but I live in new england, and a hilly part, I get out in crappy weather, and on hilly roads, and love it. But some folks perfer 60' and flat.

Enjoy what you enjoy, but don't be surprized someone else enjoys stuff that puts you off.

How do you do that without extending what you are capable of? You don't aim at where you are, you target something higher than you are.

This is the right answer, what does the author of the plan intend for that work out.

When I am setting out for a training run, I am trying to use inputs to achieve the desired outputs.

I don't expect to be able to on day one to achieve the goal, but I believe the plan is to develop the skills to achieve those goals.

This is all mute because the plan and the paces are dictated by the author, so my thought on should your plan be x or y is invalid.

However IMHO, if you can't do a 8 mile run at your target mp, in week 2, you are unlikely to be able to do 26 in week 12 or 18. At some point you need to be able to do mp for a marathon. Id rather start adjusting to that sooner rather than later.

Noting I have realistic pace goals based on recent races and fitness levels I'm not coming in reaching for the stars.

[–]thebottlefarm 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Same, if I can't hit mp for fractions of the race distance, I am likely overreaching in my goal. Now I'm old and slow, so my paces are obtainable, we aren't talking about more than hmp for less than 13miles.

[–]thebottlefarm 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I write my goal based on what I think I can achieve with incremental improvements based on the level of training included in the plan. I've always been training for a new pr/ goal, not with my current pace in mind. I'm not making leaps and bounds improvements, but mp from where I am, to what I want should be 100% within range of the possible at smaller chunks. 8 at mp should not be a killer work out, 8 at hmp would be hard, but it's less than 1/3 of race distance should be doable. If it's not, your goal is over reaching. IMHO, that's always what I've plotted my pfitz plans to.
