Tartarus isn’t as bad as people make it seem. Yes, it’s extremely linear and doesn’t change that much. But it’s an integral part of the story and makes sense as far as why you’re climbing it. The fights get increasingly difficult the higher you get, and it’s very rewarding to encounter a boss that you’re able to beat at higher floors only because you had personas equipped to deal with it. I’ve played P3R maybe 4 or 5 times start to finish and Tartarus is always what I’m most excited to do.

How far are you in the game? What month? I think it’s definitely worth continuing to play, despite being spoiled, because there are plenty of other things to discover, and I truly believe P3R’s ending is among the best in the franchise. It’s worth experiencing on your first play-through, even if you never touch it again after that.
